My BF and TBH

My wonderful BF is spending the Xmas holidays in Spain with me (mostly shagging each other blind after two months of horrible celibacy—and you wondered why I wasn’t around!). Last night during dinner, someone was talking about world hunger—or some such other crap that’s supposed to make people seem intelligent and caring *gag*—and BF said, “You don’t know hunger until you’ve read The Bronze Horseman.” *SHOCK* *GASP* *HUH?* I’d forgotten I lend his sister a pile of books just before leaving DR, including TBH, and it seems he read it and loved it “until they get to that Sarajevo place and start doing it like bunnies in heat.” LOL

Do you see what’s going on here? This is all part of Harlot’s master plan to drive me insane with that bloody book. I don’t get it; how can everyone absolutely love it including my non-reading BF while I’ll always think of it as the book with the two stupid sisters and the cheating pig? *grrrr*

On a side note: BF and Harlot are ganging up on me!!! Need to recruit some of you to my side as I’m short on people to explain to them how good I really am!

On a second side note: We need to make a choice for the next BBC ASAP! Since I haven’t read a book in freaking months, and it’s my turn to choose, I could really really use some suggestions!

Er, another side note: Watch my elf-self dance! Isn’t that cute? :D

As much as I agree with the two stupid sisters comment I did love TBH. Even if I didn't think I did in the beginning (do to some irrational responses on my part), I still think about that freaking book and that just shows how much I really did like it.

So glad you have time with BF. Lucky you with all that sex!

As for the next BBC. I'm currently obsessed with Suzanne Enoch's series about a hot British guy and a very likable heroine/thief. The books are FLIRTING WITH DANGER, DON'T LOOK DOWN and BILLIONAIRES PREFER BLONDES. You can definitely just read the first one, but you'll want to read the rest after a taste of Rick.

Have a lovely rest of your visit ;)

I'd like to say I truly enjoyed TBH. Sorry Trollop. :P

I'm glad your BF is there with you. And such a good taste that he liked TBH! Wonder why he didn't like Lazarevo though. I like that part the most.

For BBC, how about Harry Potter 6? Or maybe Time Traveler's Wife. Great book!

Trollop, love your elf! LOL! Glad you're back, we've missed you. :)

As for the BBC, I second The Time Traveler's Wife because I already have a copy. I've yet to read it though and BBC is the perfect reason to start reading.

LOL! Love your elf Trollop! So glad you're back and that you're enjoying your holiday. You deserve some break after all that studying and I'm glad you're BF is with you.

For the next BBC, I suggest The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. If you want chiclit, anything by Jennifer Weiner.

Trollop, glad to see you're back and that you're spending holidays with your BF and that you're having a lot of sex! lol

For BBC, I'm currently reading The Kite Runner. Very interesting book.

Trollop, I'm glad your BF is there with you. And you having all that sex. :P

I agree with Vanessa on The Kite Runner. That's a good book to discuss. Jennifer Weiner is another favorite of mine. Good in Bed, In Her Shoes, Earthquakes, they're all good!

I keep hearing about this Bronze Horseman book on your blog, especially from Harlot. I don't even know who Paulina Simons is. But after reading Harlot's review of TBH (I have to admit she's very convincing lol) I already believe it's a book I would love. But what's this? There's cheating involved? I don't like cheating. Not even in books...

So glad you're blogging again and that your bf is spending the holidays there with you in Spain. :)

Trollop, maybe your bf didn't really liked TBH and only says so since, as you've mentioned, he and Harlot are ganging up on you. :P LOL

Trollop, LMAO! Love the dancing elf!

About TBH, I might agree that Tatiana and Dasha are both idiots but it's such an amazing book I reckon all who love romance and a good story should read it. :)

Lily Moon, TBH is great! You should try it. :)

I already have TBH on my bookshelf but can't seem to start it. The sheer volume is daunting. LOL. I know I have to read it soon.

Aggie,
LOL You won't believe this. Just this week i was browsing old posts and came upon this comment of yours and thought, hey that's a good idea! I even copied it to my list of to-do topics!

"I wondered whether it might be a good idea to review the books from your teens that got you interested in Romance in the first place? Because there are so many different cultures commenting on this Blog, I thought it would be really stimulating ..."

Have to admit though, for the life of me couldn't remember of ever reading it before. Or i just fucking forgot. :/ Thanks for the reminder!

Ladybug,
No. Trollop's BF reaaaally loved TBH. Honestly, you have no idea how this brings me soooo much joy (and gloating rights *bwahahaha!*) since I AM RIGHT AND TROLLOP'S WRONG. HA! And yes, PLEASE do not be deceived by her "how good i really am!" claim. *snort*

Lily,
Don't listen to Trollop! Do you have a copy already? Wouldn't hurt to at least try to read it first, no? :) But really, ask yourself, do you want to read a compelling story? Do you want an AMAZING love story? Do you like an oh so unforgettably well-written book?

If you do (AND FOR ALL OF YOU WHO ALREADY HAVE A COPY OF TBH BUT HAVEN'T READ IT YET, OR FOR THOSE WHO DON'T HAVE A COPY, WHAT ARE YA WAITING FOR--GO GET IT! :P) please, READ IT! I don't want to brag, *ahem* (heh) but even those people who didn't like me at JMBB (bwahahaha) had read TBH and they LOVED it! I was told my pimping there of TBH spawned a lot of "underground" fans, really, it brings me pleasure (and snickers LOL) every time i think of them hating the fact that it was me, that Harlot, who brought TBH in that fucking rotten place. *g*

Please don't be discouraged by its volume. And like i said, what's the harm of trying to read it first? If you're crazy like Trollop, er, and didn't like it, you can stop reading anytime. If you end up loving it, you'd discover an outstanding book you will never evah evah forget. ;)

LMAO! Funny Trollop elf!

Happy New Year BBs! I feel so free today I'm still wearing my pjs, lol. Trollop, I'm glad you're BF is spending his holidays there with you. :) We missed you!

For BBC book, I second the Traveler's Wife suggestion. I don't have the book yet but I've heard a lot of good things about it so it's in my to buy list and BBC would be the perfect reason to read it.

happy new years you guys! I have to admit I wasnt a fan of TBH. :-)

As for the time traveler's wife, I wasn't a big fan of the book only because I cried when it was over.

Jenny Weiner is always good!

Milan! *gasp* WHY WHY WHY?

I've always said it's good that we have different tastes in books. I mean Trollop and i usually disagree on books we love (she's weird!). There are books i totally love but she truly hated (some she even trashed here! *grrr*), and there are books she adores that i ended up surrendering to my "bloody stupid books" shelf to be eaten by dust bunnies. Would Trollop want PS to write TBH differently? I don't think so. Because she knows i'll probably like it less or some stuff won't fit and i won't enjoy it. She loves me like that. ;) Same thing with books she'd enjoyed, i.e. BEL CANTO. Would i prefer Patchett writing it differently? Of course not. Even if i really think it's bloody boring and really annoying. :P
