With all the rumors flying around that Friday Night Lights, one of the best damn shows on TV today, will get the ax, I got to think about other briiiilliant shows I love that were snatched away like that sicko R. Kelly snatched Aaliyah...
- 5. Boston Public. Dunno why I got addicted to this drama. Perhaps because my high school years were totally fucked up I wished Winslow High and its faculty—including Mr. Guber, the Nazi with a heart of gold—were real. Or, hmmm, perhaps it really was better than The Practice and Ally McBeal.
- 4. Arrested Development. Only 53 episodes yet it “received six Emmy awards, one Golden Globe, copious critical acclaim and a spot on Time Magazine’s 100 Greatest Shows of All Time.” Honestly, why anyone wouldn’t like Michael Bluth and his hilarious dysfunctional family is beyond me.
- 3. My So Called Life. Oooo, the trauma! It was cut off without an ending! Plus, how was an innocent heathen like me supposed to survive teen years without my best gal pal Angela? How oh how was I supposed to survive without lusting after my best gal pal’s boytoy Jordan Catalano??? Anguish, truly truly... *sniff*
- 2. Wonderfalls. I want to be Jaye Tyler when I grow up: unapologetic, cynical, sarcastic to the bone free-spirit who does what she wants without caring what others think. *g* The show is imaginative and quirky and funny and witty and just plain freaking entertaining. (Did you guys notice Kaylee plays Eric’s slutty wife Heidi?)
- 1. Firefly. Hilarious, original, smart, sharp dialogues, fantastic story, lovable characters (yes, even Jayne); there is nothing—NOTHING like it. Yet, with unfathomable stupidity, Fox cancelled Firefly while unoriginal waste-of-TV-space crap are still aired on TV! The injustice, GRRR!!! Now, what I want to know is this: Why hasn’t anybody rubbed two brain cells together and realize that us Browncoats have a boatload of cashy money, which gorram Fox can have—DAMN YOU, FOX!—if only they’ll give us Firefly back?!?

Not ONLY do they not cast him as the wonderfully gorgeous Jasper in Twilight (so that we end up with that hideous Jackson Rathbone with his scary blonde wig that looks like its about to come and EAT ME!) but they want to take away my weekly fix?! I am so sick of NBC trying to shove 30 rock down our throats. They screwed up our thursday TV habits by moving 30 rock to 8:30 so that they could try to capture veiwers before Gray's came on. I have never seen a network work so hard to get veiwers for a show. So now we miss The Office. Pisses me off.
But, Good Lawd, those pictures could entice me to watch FNLs.

Shows I'm hoping will continue: Pushing Daisies, Chuck, Sarah Connor Chronicles. I don't think SPN is in danger of being cancelled this time around, unless it suddenly tanks in the last few episodes of this year.
FNL... I LOVED the first season, and then it got hit hard with the sophomore slump, though, of course, just as it's starting to find its feet again, there are no more episodes.
Have you seen JUNO, Harlot? The dad - I think - from Arrested Development is in it. So is Landry's dad from FNL, Allison Janney from The West Wing, and Jennifer Garner. It's a lovely little movie.

I don't follow THE OFFICE but i watch everytime i catch it on TV. 30 ROCK, blech. Honestly, one of the most irritating shows on TV.

Dance, loooove PD but never heard of the others. I agree with FNL's sophomore slump thing. Also, i remember asking myself, what the hell happened to Julie??! I love Coach Taylor, he's the glue that holds everything together. You know i know this is drama but every episode there are parts that made me laugh out loud.
JUNO is great! Yes the dad is Michael Bluth. :D And the dude who got Juno pregnant is George Michael on ARRESTED (Michael Bluth's son). Dunno the actress who played Juno but i luuuub her--she's a firecracker--like me. :P
I have never seen THE WEST WING. Ok, two episodes, which didn't make sense to me because it felt like i had to watch the previous episodes to understand what's happening.
Haven't read Serenity comics. This is what's frustrating: yes you can watch the movie and TV episodes again and again, but it is not the same. :( *sigh*

I lurve BUFFY too! Didn't really watch ANGEL. As for SATC, i thought it was time they go. They had a fab ending; it wasn't stopped prematurely, wasn't just yanked off the air in the middle of the season--that's what i HATE the most. GRRRR

I also like the idea of Tim and Tyra as friends who exasperate each other a lot (well, more for Tyra than Tim); I LOVED her aiming the volleyballs at Tim. HEE.
Tyra/Landry I would probably like a lot more were it not for the way they got together and how it all unfolded after that, but I could be persuaded to ship them.
