I’m wondering if the U.S. political system is ever going to be rid of this idiot. Even in this interview—where everything is on her side, where she’s probably being fed word-per-word what she has to say—she manages to sound like a 16-year-old cheerleader off to prom.
Sarah Palin is an embarrassment to female politicians.
On the other side, WOW, I feel really bad for Sarah for putting herself in the hands of this (so obviously) mentally deranged man John Ziegler. Funny how this clown thinks Palin was exploited by the media; talk about the pot calling the kettle black. People would do anything for their 15 minutes of fame. Too bad he’s so fugly, being good looking might have made these clips more interesting.

I get so mad at American puritans who don’t mind going to war and killing innocent people, who think it’s just fine and dandy to hand out guns as party favors, who believe doing drugs is no more than a recreational activity, but abhor human beings that love each other just because they share the same sex. Who the hell are these 51% of Californians that think they are god? Why do they have the right to take away someone else’s right to be treated as equals? Why are homosexuals not allowed to get married if God created them just as he created us heterosexuals? These people should be ashamed of themselves and the rest of the world should be ashamed of them too.
This gets me so mad I can’t even think coherently so I’ll leave you with
Mrs. Etheridge words on the subject. Go Melissa!
Singer Melissa Etheridge rails against the passage of the gay-marriage ban in California—and she won’t be paying the state a dime:
Okay. So Prop 8 passed. Alright, I get it. 51% of you think that I am a second class citizen. Alright then. So my wife, uh I mean, roommate? Girlfriend? Special lady friend? You are gonna have to help me here because I am not sure what to call her now. Anyways, she and I are not allowed the same right under the state constitution as any other citizen. Okay, so I am taking that to mean I do not have to pay my state taxes because I am not a full citizen. I mean that would just be wrong, to make someone pay taxes and not give them the same rights, sounds sort of like that taxation without representation thing from the history books.
Okay, cool I don’t mean to get too personal here but there is a lot I can do with the extra half a million dollars that I will be keeping instead of handing it over to the state of California. Oh, and I am sure Ellen will be a little excited to keep her bazillion bucks that she pays in taxes too. Wow, come to think of it, there are quite a few of us fortunate gay folks that will be having some extra cash this year. What recession? We’re gay! I am sure there will be a little box on the tax forms now single, married, divorced, gay, check here if you are gay, yeah, that’s not so bad. Of course all of the waiters and hairdressers and UPS workers and gym teachers and such, they won’t have to pay their taxes either.

Go, be merry and vote against Sarah Palin.
The woman is a bloody idiot. And let me just say that I think John McCain would make a better president than Barack Obama,** but geesh, I worry about trusting him after choosing that pro-life, book-banning, moose-killing, intellectually-challenged dimwit. Who in their right mind would think Sarah “verbal-diarrhea” Palin is fit to be... well, anything really. I pity those poor people from Alaska, not to mention the wild-life there.
Now, all jokes aside, my biggest problem with this woman is that she’s an animal hater and that’s just plain wrong in my book.
Here’s Sarah getting pranked by a couple of Canadian comedians. She really isn’t the brightest tool in the shed.
**I believe he lacks experience and I hate that he beat Hillary Clinton. *grrr* He’s really sexy though so those are points in his favor LOL.

I lost. *sigh*
Well, actually, my candidate lost. I think we did very well: 53% to 41%; not so bad really. We should win for sure next time, only two more years till the mid-term congressional elections and four for the next presidential ones.
I learned a world of things in this campaign and I can’t wait for the work to start again in full force. In the mean time, I have been offered to conduct a political analysis radio show and some other things I’m still looking into. I think the next couple of years shall be verra interesting for me. *wink*
Now, I NEED BOOK RECOMMENDATIONS!
I’ve read all of Eloisa James’s backlist in the last six months; she’s such a delight to read. Her stories are complex and fun you can’t help but love them—except for those “Pleasure” books. *ACKKKKKKKKK* Those idiotic twins in the first two books are bloody idiots. There were so many secondary characters and nonsensical plots that I had to write them down in a pad to keep them straight. How she got those novels published is beyond me...
I did manage to read one non-political and non-EJ book that I loved: The Spymaster’s Lady by Joanna Bourne. If you haven’t read it you are missing out on the best historical romance I’ve read in years; simply marvelous.
I’m counting on you guys to plump up my reading list which is rather poor at the moment.
Recommendations, anyone? Anyone?

Jack Nicholson is so damn smart and sexy (plus the best actor evah) I’d buy poop on a stick from him LOL.
This ad is nothing short of genius. Kudos to Hillary’s campaign for finally doing something right! *wink* Poor Hillary is a very good product with very bad marketing. Her strategists should take pointers from Obama’s side: it’s all in the wrapping, baby! In politics (sadly) it’s not really who you are that matters, but how well you sell yourself.

I’ve been offered by the campaign managers to co-host a special TV show to get undecided voters on our side (convince them to give their vote to my candidate). There will be between 9 and 12** half-hour shows broadcasted in 5 major channels.
This terrifies me. Not so much because of shyness, fear of public speaking or nervousness, but because TV makes you fat. Even one extra pound makes me look like a donut—imagine ten! People commit suicide for less than this!
IF I don’t look too bad, I’ll give you guys the link to the website where the shows will be uploaded—and that’s a big
if. In any case it’s in Spanish so it’ll just be gibberish to most of you LOL.
**We have what’s called the Ballotage Voting System. The number of shows will depend on whether we get the 50% +1 votes necessary to win in the first round, or if another voting round will be needed.Labels: politics crap, trollop and harlot’s stuff

Both candidates [Obama and Clinton] are targeting superdelegates in aggressive lobbying campaigns.
Carol Ann Campbell, a superdelegate from Philadelphia, which votes April 22, played for a reporter a recent voice mail from Michelle Obama.
“Hi, Carol, this is Michelle Obama. I’m the wife of Barack Obama, who is running for president. Just reaching out to see where you stand on this presidential race, and obviously we want your public support of Barack.”
Campbell said in an interview she was “somewhat” leaning toward Hillary Clinton. ”Not so much because of her,” she said, “but because of her husband. A brilliant man.”
What. The. Fuck? How can anyone say something that stupid? You can’t vote for someone based on how much you like their husband, how cute you think he/she is, or—god forbid—on how nice their shoes are. *head-desk*
On another note:
Hello!? The United States has GOT to do something about this insane anyone-and-their-crazy-grandma-can-get-a-gun thing. How many deaths will it take for people to understand that? Honestly, your personal right to protect yourself would work so much better if THERE WERE NO GUNS OUT THERE in the wrong hands, to begin with. How selfish can people get?
Take a look at what the U.N. wants and tell me it doesn’t make sense: - Reduce the number of guns in private hands that include mandating a maximum one-gun-per-person rule;
- A ban on possession of handguns by anyone other than government officials and target shooters who would be forced to store their weapons at shooting ranges;
- Worldwide licensing of firearms registered in a vast U.N. computer bank.
The right to “protect” yourself *snort* should not exclude someone else’s right to live. I’m just saying...

Guys, I’ve a great blog post idea but cannot work on it now because I’m on deadline for the magazine I write for; bare with me for a bit please. *g*
I have two articles coming out in the next issue for which I’d like input from you guys. One is about political blogs and how they influence campaigns and voters. Maybe, those of you who have a little interest in politics and/or world events could comment on these three points:
- How influenced are you by bloggers’ points of view in politics, political candidates, international/national political issues?
- Do you go out of your way to check if these bloggers are informing actual facts or if most of it is their opinion?
- Do you only read blogs that mirror your view points, or do you venture out and read sites you recognize differ from your political standings?
The other one is about ebook readers. I’m looking for different advantages of owning one, and not only from a romance/fiction reader but also—and most importantly, for my article—for a business man, politician and person who cares/lobbies for the environment, etc.
Thanks for any help you can give me, guys; it’s very much appreciated. *smile*

“She never lets ideas interrupt the easy flow of her conversation.”
- Jean Webster
I for one can’t stand Hillary or Bill. She sets feminism back a thousand years by tolerating Bill’s affairs—get a divorce for cripes sake!
I read this comment about
Hillary Clinton in a blog a while ago, and I feel the need to say a couple of things about it. I’ve heard things along these same lines ever since Hillary tossed her name in as presidential hopeful but this one takes the cake.
You can think whatever you please about Mrs. Clinton; you can love or hate her; approve, or disapprove, of her political ideas; agree or disagree with her for staying with her husband after cheating but please, do not say something as absurd as “She sets feminism back a thousand years by tolerating Bill’s affairs.”
I think, as women, we should never forget what the core of the feminism movement is all about—and it’s not about cheating; it’s about equality and the right to choose that comes with it.
The principle of choice means that we respect, support and advocate for women’s individual and collective right to make our own decisions about our bodies, our families, our jobs and our lives. The right to choose is integral to the feminist pursuit of social, legal, political, economic and cultural equality for women.
Just as any of us can choose to leave our husbands or partners for cheating, other women have the same right to forgive and stay with them.
Some months ago a teacher asked us why we thought the feminism movement had slowed down in the last decade. A Spanish congresswoman, that was visiting us that day, said she believed it was in part because: the minute some women started rising above others, doing better, becoming more successful they were hated and scorned by the same group of women who used to defend the right for them to be “more” to begin with. Something we should all, perhaps, think about...

I’ve made the resolution to take a break from reading romance novels until May. My decision is based on a couple of things:
- Besides school books, about 80% of my reads last year were romance.
- Out of that 80%, I would honestly say 60% were really bad, 20% were passably decent, 5% were good enough to recommend and another 5% might have made my shelf.
- I need to get my butt 100% in the campaign. I need to think politics, practice politics, breathe politics and dream politics; my life, from now until May, has to be nothing but politics. Romance has always been a welcomed distraction, hence, I should stay away from it and anything else that distracts me. *wink*
- The first genre I fell in love with was historical fiction. I’ve been neglecting it the last couple of years and want to catch up on all the wonderful titles I’ve missed out on.
I’ve spend the last week or so compiling my reading list for the next two months, and so far, this is what I have in my TBR list. You’ll see that for every three “political” books I’m rewarding myself with a historical fiction one and I’m going to do my very best to read them in this order. - My Life by Bill Clinton
- Winning Elections: Political Campaign Management, Strategy and Tactics by Ronald A. Faucheux
- The Campaign Manager: Running and Winning Local Elections by Catherine M. Shaw
- I, Mona Lisa by Jeanne Kalogridis
- Living History by Hillary Rodham Clinton
- The Spiral of Silence: Public Opinion, Our Social Skin by Elisabeth Noelle-Neumann
- Readings in Latin American Politics: Challenges to Democratization by Peter Kingston
- Katherine by Anya Seton
Political books are slow reads hence the four books per month I’ve estimated.
I’ve already Started My Life. I’ve been in love with Bill Clinton from the time I was twelve years old so I put him first. I’ve been loving going to bed with him. *wink*
Anyone want to join me in some of these reads? If not, what’s in your TBR?Labels: bibliophile’s affair, politics crap

I really like
Barack Obama. He’s smart, handsome, stands up for what he believes in and is very politically mature for his age—yet, not mature enough to run for president of the United States let alone mature enough to be president of the United States.
I believe he has all the qualities to be a wonderful president someday but right now he lacks the experience, the maturity and, apparently, the diplomacy a leader needs:
Candidates gave varying opinions late Monday night of President Bush’s State of the Union speech, but the two who showed for the speech at the Capitol offered the most telling body language.
Democratic rivals Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama shared the same row in the House chamber and came within a foot of each other just before the president’s speech Monday night. But neither acknowledged the other as Clinton, clad in scarlet, walked toward Obama to greet Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, the liberal icon whose endorsement she had courted only to lose to Obama.
Kennedy shook her hand while Obama, wearing a dark suit and standing between the two, turned away. A doorkeeper caught between it all cringes in a photo that captures the moment.
He should have been the proverbial “bigger man” last night. He’d publically won the endorsement of the Kennedy’s which bear a lot of weight in the Democratic Party. He must have understood that was a hard blow to Hillary, and yet, she went to shake Ted Kennedy’s hand, and he, instead of using the opportunity to greet Mrs. Clinton, turns around and snubs her.
He acted like a petulant child instead of a presidential candidate. I’m pretty sure he regrets this today.Labels: bitchin’ news, politics crap
Joy asks: “I don’t understand why he’s (G. Bush) still there? Does anyone have any idea why we can’t get rid of this guy?”
God knows I’ve asked myself these questions many a time, but what I really want to know is: why is Elisabeth still there? Does anyone have any idea why they can’t get rid of that
idiot girl?
I agree with Rosie 100%, with Joy 150% *g* and with Elisabeth -25%.
If she were a true friend she would have answered the question, either with a yes or a no. Not doing it was cowardly, like Rosie said, not to mention stupid. Perhaps she didn’t get the question? *confused* She doesn’t seem all that bright sometimes; maybe Rosie should have written it down for her and gone through it word by word explaining the meanings? LOL
And, yes, *sigh* I dislike Elisabeth *ashamed of self* but I am redeemed because I think her dress was absolutely fabulous! So you see, I don’t think she’s all bad. *wink*

BLACKSBURG, Va. - Thirty-three people, including the gunman, were killed at a Virginia university Monday in the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history. At least 15 other people were injured, some of them as they leapt to safety from the fourth floor of a classroom building.
Hospitals reported that five of the 15 injured were in stable condition; the conditions of the others were not immediately reported.
I was enjoying my night playing Tetris when Trollop (who is supposed to be studying for her exams tomorrow!!!) DEMANDED I post this. So, forgive me if I sound like an idiot anchorwoman announcing a headline she has no clue what it’s about but, have you guys heard of this??? So sad and tragic; such a useless waste of lives. :(

This morning in Political Marketing class, we ventured off into the oh-so-scary topic of abortion. We discussed how political candidates being in favor or against it, can win or loose votes, and sometimes, even elections.
I am one hundred percent pro-choice so no matter which way a politician swings in this matter, I won’t hold it against them; I am clear on where I stand in this subject, and that’s all I need to know.
Now, what bothers me are the presidents, candidates, politicians and idiots in general that have the gal to say they are pro-life but approve of abortion in cases of rape, emotional distress on the mother and/or fetal impairment. But, ummm, correct me if I’m wrong, isn’t the whole point of being pro-life saving THE existence of an unborn human? Then why the hell is it OK for a chosen group to “kill” a fetus when for the rest it isn’t? What, pray tell, is it that you are against: the “carnage” or the reason behind it?
Really, dim-witted fucks activists, give me a fucking break! You want to know what gives me emotional distress? This bloody stupidity!

Those dudes who had this video sharing idea that turned into a Silicon Valley phenomenal company known as YouTube are fucking geniuses. How much did they sell it to Google last year? $1.7 billion? And to think it all started because of Janet Jackson’s boobs. Honestly...
Anyway, you all know I’m uber nutty about a certain

I saw this at FABB (Fave Author’s BB; thanks, Lynne!) and decided to steal it LOL. Well, I was just thinking of Trollop, really; she loves pervy videos. Now tell me, how come my window washer doesn’t look like this studmuffin?! (The injustice!)
Lastly, the eye candy for deranged nymphos those with a thing for, er, powerful men? I heard this is banned in the U.S. and U.K. For some reason, the president and prime minister didn’t like it, apparently. :/

So seldom these days do we hear good news; happily today is one of those days. Jill Carroll, a 28 year old woman, a U.S. free lance journalist working for The Christian Science Monitor who had been kidnapped in Baghdad, was released today, safe and unharmed, from her kidnappers after 3 months of captivity.
Her kidnappers had demanded that all women hostages be released in Iraq by February 25th or Carroll would be beheaded. Carroll’s release happened one day after her twin sister Katie pleaded on Arab television for mercy from her sister’s captors. Sources are saying that was pivotal in Jill Carroll’s release.
This is breaking news and we still do not have many details, but I am sure more will be forthcoming today. We are so happy for the Carroll family for this joyous news. Unfortunately, it must be noted that Carroll’s translator was butchered by the same men who kidnapped her.
I know so many were praying that this young woman’s life be spared. Thank God this story had a happy ending when almost all the men who faced this same situation were killed.
Our thoughts are with the Carroll family on what surely must be the happiest day of their lives. We can’t wait to welcome Ms. Carroll home. Oh, happy day, indeed!

Hang on to your spurs, girls. Texas has passed and is enforcing a law that states that it is illegal to be drunk in a bar. WTF?
Excuse me, if you can’t be pissed assed drunk in a bar, where the hell can you be? Don’t drunks have rights too? Isn’t this going against what our founding fathers had in mind when they declared in The Bill of Rights that citizens, by law, have “the right to pursue happiness?” If you can’t find happiness in the bottle of a Bud, where can you?
To add to this craziness, just last night, several people were arrested for knocking back a few too many in the lobby bar of the very hotel where they were staying. In other words, the only heavy machinery they would be operating is the elevator to their room. Other arrests were made for people who had designated drivers. Does this law seem loony to you?
Just this month a California city declared itself a smoke free city. What does this mean? No smoking anywhere. Not even in your car if you have the window half open. Several states and countries, including Ireland much to my shame, have banned smoking in pubs. In other words, people, you can’t smoke or drink in excess in bars. Isn’t that the whole point of going to a bar? Getting drunk, smoking and drinking and getting laid by strangers?
Thank goodness some sane minded people are declaring this law unconstitutional and are taking to court. Let’s hope the judge is a drinking man.

On the third anniversary of the Iraq war, after the death of thousands of Americans, I have to ask myself, where are the Bush women: the twins, Laura, Barbara and Columbia (Gov. Jeb’s wife)? And more importantly, what have they been doing for the last three years?
If they’ve been doing anything at all to support the troops and/or their families at home, it has to be one of the best kept secrets since the identity of “Deep Throat.”
I would have more respect for the Bush family if I saw some compassion on their part for the grieving families or the soldiers who come back from the war with missing limbs, paralyzed, or just plain traumatized.
This administration sent our young to Iraq with defective body armor, insufficient troops to adequately fight this war, and have made them targets of death by the very people we “liberated.” This news is very disturbing, especially in light of the fact that war veteran benefits have recently been cut. What the hell is going on in Washington? Have they no shame? I guess the answer to that question is self explanatory.
After watching a report on CNN about a family that was fighting to get an adequate bed from the government for their 19-year-old son who came back from Iraq blind and paralyzed from the neck down, I stopped watching these news reports. It alternately made me too sad and way too mad. Why should a family who has made the ultimate sacrifice have to fight for a goddamned bed? What’s wrong with this picture?
How many of those in Congress have children in Iraq? I know for shit sure the Bush twins who are the ideal age for military are not only not in the armed services, they seemed to have totally disappeared from the public eye at a time when they should be showing troop support.
I want—no, I DEMAND to know where they are. Why are they not visiting veteran hospitals? Why are they not going to the funerals for our brave soldiers? Why are they not giving support to the families who have suffered so much?
Bush speaks of staying the course and making sacrifices. This is “Bush speak” for YOUR family making the sacrifices. One would think that the United States of America, the world’s superpower, the richest nation on earth, would do everything possible to give war veterans everything they need and deserve: respect, honor and support; and at the very least, some compassion.
I’ve known since long ago that Bush was a terrible leader. What I didn’t know was that the women in his family were heartless. Women by their very nature are supposed to be nurturing. You would think even if they didn’t feel compelled to support the wounded, they would do so just for appearances sake; but they don’t. And if they say they do support them, I say actions speak louder than words. And in this case, no action at all speaks the loudest.

I almost felt sorry for you. Almost. If only you weren’t such a clueless warmonger. Oh, and by the way, when can we expect the Bush twins to enlist in the military? Or Jeb’s kids? They are certainly of age.
Jeb’s youngest son is old enough to get arrested for drunken disorderly and resisting cops in Austin, Texas. And the

Your comment right after the hurricane, “You’re doing a heck of a job, Brownie,” to that dickless fucking wonder Michael Brown (former head of FEMA, who probably caused more deaths than Hurricane Katrina), really was the beginning of the end for you.
So it was with evil glee I saw you in a place far, far away trying to escape America and all those pesky reporters with their bothersome questions about: Iraq, the rising U.S. death toll, Tom Delay, Joseph Wilson, his CIA wife, Scooter Libby, Karl Rove, your sneaky VP, your shockingly low approval polls, gas prices, and especially my new hero—Congressman John Murtha; and there you were, trying to open the door to get out of the press room. But couldn’t. It was locked. It was priceless. It was telling. It was karma.
