"I've seen vampire venom work miracles, but there are conditions that even venom cannot overcome."

Ah, Carlisle, ye all-knowing Hottie McVampire... Here’s my no-spoiler-review of Twilight:

I snickered, I cringed, I almost barfed. Truly, I still can’t believe how BAD this movie is. Like, unbelievably embarrassingly horrendous. *shudder* FYI “true” Twihards (gotta laugh!) or whatever you wanna call yourselves now, who screamed their heads off every fucking time “Edward” appeared on the screen, despite all my bitching I LOVE Twilight, and, to be fair I once thought Rob was a bit of a cutie in GOF; believe it or not I WANTED to like this film. Now, most adaptations don’t measure up so I allowed room for disappointment—as in I went in with the lowest bar of expectation; worthy of Sarah Palin low. I knew it wasn’t going to be exactly like the book but for fuck’s sake, they could have done a better job of it!

As I’ve predicted, hee, I snickered at various scenes—I couldn’t help it. Well really, I’m not the only one. The acting was so atrocious people were laughing even when the scene was supposed to be SERIOUS. Still, that’s nothing compared with the times I had to cringe (bloke that sat next to me probably thought I had Parkinson’s :/). I.e. I cringed every time Edward looked at Bella. Actually, he was staring... staring and staring and—oh, my lord jeezuz—fucking staring... while precious Bella reciprocated with heavy breathing (fine, she blinked—like every 3 seconds or so). Edward was channeling croaky, jumpy Peter Brady (R.I.P. refined, oh-so-sophisticated Edward *sniff*); Bella was imitating a robot—or, er, WAS she a robot? I’m confused. :S The success of the film relies on the interaction and chemistry between the two because IT’S THEIR ROMANCE that has given the book its meaning, making it work—and yet their scenes together were utterly PAINFUL to watch (verra unpleasant, I tell ya). That alone made the movie fail.

Then, the makeup: IICK! The Joker must have been Twilight’s makeup artist. It was SO AWFUL that the actors’ faces looked as if they were falling apart. I actually pity the fools because you could see the makeup caked on their faces. I mean, hel-lo, it’s one thing to sound stupid but to look fugly too?!? What evil, EVIL torture! I guess while filming the poor actors had to avoid mirrors and shiny metals and lakes and stuff, or else they ran the risk of seeing their reflections and scream “Save me, Batman, save meeeee!!!”

Er, anywho, many characters were useless (jolly Emmett was a dud), some were annoying (especially fucktard Mike), while others looked like they’d been cast in the wrong bloody movie (Jacob could be in Planet of the Apes, while whatshisface who played Jasper was channeling Edward Scissorhands, except not EVEN nearly as good, or as good looking—HE WISHES—as darling Johnny). The movie itself was choppy, didn’t flow, and there were a lot of “WTF?” moments. I won’t mention any in case any of you lot who’ve yet to see it feel the need to jab popcorn into your ears or poke your eyes out with soda straws MWA HA HA be *ahem* surprised.

I swear watching the film was very embarrassing. I kid you not when I say I was mortified someone I know might see me as I was coming out of the theatre. It was soooo cheesy and stupid and, dunno, just plain awkward and weird. Stephenie must be disgusted how they butchered her book with terrible directing, bad acting and weak script. And, um... honestly, people, it is *2008* and, though I’m technically-challenged, even I know computers do fab things in the way of special effects. Maybe next time they’ll hire someone who actually KNOWS how to use one.

Anyhoodles, go see Twilight... if you dare LOL. I’m sure you’ll get a few unintentional laughs out of it. ;P

Twilight eye candy (er, sort of)

Once in a while I disentangle my naked limbs from Raoul’s and incur in things that don’t involve his beautiful mouth. ;) Shocking, isn’t it? But a girl has other needs, ya know. Anywho, because of the ten minutes I spend out of Raoul’s bed, and in the computer now and again, I’ve had no other choice but to notice the bleeding travesty—in the form of ads—that is masquerading as Twilight the movie. Alas, despite all my complaints (one would ASSUME they’d listen to me, hmmph!) Twilight was filmed with Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen. Still no clue how it happened but I think it involved drugs and magic (probably lots of Imperio curses and Confundus charm).

Regardless of my incessant whining and moaning, I gotta admit I can’t wait to see Twilight... just so I can make fun of it afterwards, hee. :P I’m worried about one thing though: I honestly don’t know how I could watch the entire movie without laughing my head off because I’m as sure as Trollop is a lunatic that I’ll be watching it with delusional fans who’ll pretend the movie is OMG-OMG-*squeee*-purrrfect and nothing is optically offensive. (Yeah, they’re high on meth.) Ohh, Xenu save me... Not sure if it will help to have Raoul kiss every inch of my body but my golly I’ve gotta try something!

NOTE: I didn’t get the chance before to comment about Breaking Dawn but it must be said: For months, Stephenie Meyer teased and teased with Edward’s nipple, calling to me, luring me, making me CRAVE it nightly to suckle on it like a starving baby. You’d think I’d be orgasmic after having read it. UGH! Never thought I’d hate a book more than I hated Outlander and Story of O! Swinging, super sperm that isn’t really sperm, lochness monster, taking back most of the vampire myth she built—WITHOUT EXPLANATIONS AT ALL—just so Bella can have every fucking thing?!?? Dunno what kind of hash Ms. Meyer’s been smoking but I thought she wrote a clusterfuck of scifi for idiots. :/ (To be fair, despite the fact that Jacob is an annoying jerkwad in Eclipse, stupid dog, I WUV him as the narrator. *g*)

If you want to punish your poor eyes, please do continue after the jump...

I can’t decide which pic is the best: the one where “Edward” looks like Yogi Bear’s cousin or an extra in a crappy zombie movie, or the one where he looks like an Ebola virus victim or a kiddie porn model. Hmmm...

Am I the only one that doesn't get the Twilight craze?

I mean, don’t get me wrong, I read the book and thought it was OK, but nothing to sell your first born over.

I can’t recall what my exact feelings about the novel were, but it must have been a cross between good and meh because I couldn’t bring myself to read the second one. If I’m not mistaken, I found Bella irritating and part of the storyline nonsensical though I did enjoy Edward and his vampire family.

Mind you, I wouldn’t tattoo “Edward Cullen” across my ass or anything but I’ll definitely go see the movie when the lines die down. Who knows, it might be better than the book.

Update: I don’t get it. Vampires are supposed to be hot; why is everyone in this trailer (including Edward!) damn fugly? I have to watch Goblet of Fire again because I remember Cedric Diggory looking a hundred times better than this.

Johnny Depp: Is it possible for this man to ever look unfuckable?

Here’s Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter in Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland (2010).

I tell you, anyone else in this outfit would look outright freaky—but not Johnny. He looks totally fuckable in that top hat. Wish he were naked though. *sigh*

And the mullet is gone, my friends...

... Thank god.

I’m looking forward to Angels and Demons more than I was to The Da Vinci Code. The book is far more entertaining and the historical aspects more engrossing. I was very lucky to be living in Rome when I first read this novel so I feel I got to “live” it in a rather real way. At the time, I became obsessed with all that included Vatican history; very educational.

John James Preston?

... Sounds like a banker’s name and still I’m aroused LOL.

I have all of 10 seconds to write this post.

I saw the new SATC movie trailer last week and loved it. I’m beginning to think that the movie might not be so bad, hideous wedding dress and all.

Quick thoughts on the trailer:
  • Did John James Preston—the hottie formerly known as BIG—jilt Carrie?
  • Steve cheated? *gasp*
  • Where is Smith?!?!
  • How corny is that I-came-to-NY-to-fall-in-love J. Hudson line? *gag*
  • Lurve all the bathing suits the girls are wearing. *g*
  • This is only the trailer and Charlotte is already pissing me off. Why does she keep dressing like a 50’s housewife? That dress/hairdo in the pregnant shot made me want to poke out my eyeballs with a sharp pencil.
  • The girls look fabulous. Me thinks about 70% of the film’s budget went to makeup and filter lenses for the cameras. They don’t look a day over 35; lucky bitches.

They're creepy and they're kooky, mysterious and spooky, they're all together ooky, the Cullen family!

Summit Entertainment couldn’t personally come to my home and sucker punch me in the heart so they did the next best thing:

This is what will happen if Cousin It and La Pequeña Prohibida get together to do the universe harm and fucking procreate. Half tacky wig, half transvestite horse, all ug-ly. Oh, for fuck’s sake... kill me, kill meeeeee...

Los Angeles, CA February 19, 2007—Summit Entertainment announced today that it has rounded out the cast of the Cullen family in the first installment of its filmed franchise, Twilight. The family of vampires, to which the leading male character Edward Cullen belongs, will be comprised of actors Peter Facinelli as Carlisle, Elizabeth Reaser as Esme, Jackson Rathbone as Jasper, Nikki Reed as Rosalie, Ashley Greene as Alice and Kellan Lutz as Emmett.

“Finding six talented actors who can portray supernaturally beautiful, talented vampires of the sort Stephenie Meyer has created and her fans have come to know and love was not an easy task but we are happy to say we have found our perfect Cullen family,” said Erik Feig, Summit’s President of Production. Meet Becky Bloomwood

I know Hollywood is the land of fake (fake face, fake boobies, fake husband, fake sex—you name it!) where originality is scarce so book adaptations should always be expected, but gawdalmighty, I’m beginning to think every bleeding bestseller is being made into a movie. (Not that I’m complaining, hee. As of now, my most anticipated movie is The Time Traveler’s Wife.)

Production for Confessions of a Shopaholic, based on the novel by Sophie Kinsella, has already began a few days ago in NYC. Isla Fisher** will play Becky, “a compulsive shopper in Manhattan up to her neck in debt who becomes a financial-advice columnist.” Photo above is one of the first photos taken from the set; I should hate orange and purple together but love the tights, loooove the coat—I think she looks pretty spiffy. Then I looked down: peep-toe booties? :S

Anyhoodles, according to IMDb, Krysten Ritter joins the cast as Suze, Becky’s BFF. Hugh Dancy is also listed but without mention of a specific role. Is he going to play the verra fuckable Luke? More importantly, will he open up to Becky *ahem* *in Becky’s voice* “like they do on Dawson’s Creek”? (Source)

**How does Mrs. Borat stay looking so young? Virgin’s blood? Dolphin’s tears? Unicorn’s poop?? What, whaaaat???

More on books adapted into movies

My Sister’s Keeper (by Jodi Picoult). No more Fanning sisters! Both Dakota and Elle Fanning have dropped out of the film. Abigail Breslin will now play the role of Anna (previously given to Elle), the girl who sues her parents for medical emancipation. Sofia Vassilieva, whom I’ve never heard of, is in talks to take Dakota’s role of Kate, Anna’s sick older sister.

Sources said Dakota Fanning balked at a request that she shave her head for the role and both sisters withdrew abruptly.

Cameron Diaz plays the mother of the girls, a tough lawyer who takes her own case in court. Alec Baldwin plays the attorney who represents the child. Joan Cusack will also star in the drama.

I’d balk too if someone said I have to shave off my pritti locks. Hmph. Anywho, I think Abigail, who is adorable and brilliant in Little Miss Sunshine, is better suited to play Kate’s role.

Inkheart (by Cornelia Funke) (RD: March 19). Oh, how I wish I have the ability to read a character out of a book. I’ll bring my Matt Farrell to life and he can finally leave that stupid Meredith and live happily ever after with me. *sigh*

Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging (by Louise Rennison) (RD: July 25). OMG, I looooove Georgia! I didn’t even know they made this into a movie!

Synopsis: The film follows the eccentric and irresistible Georgia Nicolson as she overcomes the trauma of being a teenager and moves up the “snogging scale”. Misunderstood by her ancient parents, but buoyed up by the love of her cat Angus and her best friends—“The Ace Gang”—Georgia struggles through life seeking out her two main desires: 1. To get a gorgeous sex-god as her boyfriend and 2. To throw the greatest 15th birthday party ever. When handsome brothers Tom and Robbie arrive at school, Georgia thinks her boyfriend dreams have been answered. But when she sees Robbie with her arch rival Lindsay, she devises a plan to show Robbie that she’s the mature, sophisticated girlfriend he deserves. Unfortunately Georgia’s plans—involving snogging lessons, stalking Lindsay, and dying her legs orange—don’t exactly run smoothly.

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 (by Ann Brashares) (RD: August 8). I haven’t even seen the first one. Well, I haven’t read any of the books neither. :/

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (by C.S. Lewis) (RD: May 16). Am I the only one who thinks Prince Caspian is hot? *g*

The Other Boleyn Girl (by Philippa Gregory) (RD: February 29). Been waiting for this ever since we had the book for BBC. True, Scarlett Johansson is so dull she’ll bore me to death even if she’s breathing fire while hanging naked from a pole but I want me some Eric Bana. Eric and his huge penis codpiece. *faraway look, dreamy sigh* Oh my...

"This suprised me; my hallucinatory Edwards were usually better fed."

Why? *long suffering sigh* Why? Why don’t these Twilight casting directors ever listen to me??? This is like talking to Trollop or teaching platypuses or telling Brit Brit to wear knickers or asking Santa to whack Victoria so I can have Becks—I might as well ask them to box a kangaroo! I swear this is more frustrating than being trapped in a cave on a deserted island somewhere when I’m in dire need to fiddle with myself and there’s no BOB or handy porn! ARRGH!

Cast of Twilight movie (besides Ava from Grey’s Anatomy, I’ve never heard of these people):

(I was expecting a finger-lickin’ Nutella-licious mm mmmm Jasper after those heartless bastards brutally—BRUTALLY, I tell ya!—robbed me of an uber swoonsome Edward. What did they do instead? They picked a virgin dude who looks like he’ll keel over if I pinch him! Blech!)

Ashley Greene as Alice

Nikki Reed as Rosalie

Anna Kendrick as Jessica

Michael Welch as Mike

Justin Chon as Eric

Rachelle Lefevre as Victoria

Cam Gigandet as James

(Sweet jeezuz, FINALLY, eye candy. But, um, in what fucked up universe is James hotter than Edward?)

P.S. Thanks to Anan for this bit. All info from the Twilight Lexicon.

UPDATE: (Thanks Mallie!)

Kellan Lutz as Emmett

Breaking dawn

Fellow Edward Cullen 4ever & evah fanclub members, rejoice rejoice! Breaking Dawn, Book Four in Stephenie Meyer’s “Twilight” series, will be available at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, August 2. Despite the fact I almost chunked my copy of Eclipse into boiling bubotuber pus, gotta admit I’m still gaga over this news. :P The cover will be revealed this summer but in the meantime you can already pre-order your copy and obsess whether Edward will finally realize he’s being a dumdum and leave that stupid Bella and be with his Harlot. *wink*

P.S. Do not fret, die hard SM fangirls. If you think August is too far a wait, The Host—a scifi novel deemed as her first book for adults—will be out this May 6.

You have GOT to be kidding me

Jeebus Crust. Is Pat Field testing how much ridiculousness Sex and the City fans will take or she’s just getting senile? First, Sarah Jessica Parker appeared like an old tranny dressed as the Bride of Frankenstein. Then a confused gay-boy wearing his momma’s flowery satin curtains. And now THIS: a delusional cougar in a drunk prostitute’s dress and a rotting doughnut?!? (Source)

Cedric Diggory to play Edward Cullen

Summit Entertainment announced today that Robert Pattinson will star as Edward in the highly anticipated feature film production Twilight opposite Kristen Stewart.

Erik Feig, Summit Entertainment’s President of Production, stated, “It’s always a challenge to find the right actor for a part that has lived so vividly in the imaginations of readers but we took the responsibility seriously and are confident, with Rob Pattinson, that we have found the perfect Edward for our Bella in Twilight.”

The perfect Edward??? When this broomhead played Cedric, he reminded me of Legolas hopping like a lizard and now he’s the PERFECT Edward?!?!

Oh, for Voldemort’s nipples! Why oh why do these cauldron bums do this to me? Must I kill a unicorn in the Forbidden Forrest first before they stop torturing me? If they’d chosen Henry Cavill to play my beloved, we wouldn’t have a problem because all I’d see is a rainbow and my head would be full of Dobby dancing. But noooooooo. *GRRRR* They had to push me into making those “Support Henry Cavill/Cedric Stinks” freakin’ badges that I’d swish and flicker in front of those SONS OF BANSHEES!!! :@

**Thanks to gorgeous Anan for the tip.
***More of Cedric here.

I just had to share!

The fab four are back and they—surprisingly—look better than ever!

I love the styles and the smiles and girls. I shudder to think how much HBO is spending on digital retouches alone! LOL Anywho, it looks like it’ll be worth it. *g*

Enjoy...

I think I'm in love (Part 375)

The BF (who’s just left me for a whole week *sob*) and I watched Death Proof, a Quentin Tarantino film, Sunday. And Y’all know how much I love Tarantino; he can do no wrong in my book. This movie was strange and odd, and I wasn’t sure I got the plot, but even that is what makes QT such a wonderful director and what makes me gaga over all his stuff.

My fave part, besides the gruesome crash—there were legs flying, skulls cracking, faces being ripped off *muahahaha*—was the lap dance Butterfly gives Stuntman Mike. Wow, Vanessa Ferlito, the actress that plays Butterfly is H.O.T. hot! Love her lips and her real body, with her slight belly fat and normal sized ass and thighs. I’ve myself a girl crush on her now and the BF loves it LOL.

Vanessa is featured in Death Proof—part of the double-feature Grindhouse (2007)—an unapologetically sleaze-filled saga directed by Quentin Tarantino. Vanessa for one hopes it won’t be the last time the pair collaborates. “Quentin Tarantino is a genius,” she gushed. “I want to do every single film with him. He better have a role for me in everything!”

Here’s the vid; watch and let me know what you think. *g*

Fairytale ramblings: Can a storybook view of romance survive in the real world?

I have a confession: I’m a sucker for fairytales. Yeah, my sarcastic heart secretly likes happily every after of funny, goofy, swashbuckling, magical love. I swear no one likes fairytales as much as I do—not even a Disney princess brat. Be it fairytale books or movies or porn, just give it to me and I’ll gobble it up. I might even cry. *sniffles*

This is the reason why Stardust is my favorite movie of 2007. I choose it over 300 and Bourne Ultimatum. Yep, over His Royal Hotness Gerry Butler and Sexiest Man Alive *snort* Matt Damon. Who cares if they keep saying Tristan when it’s supposed to be Trist*R*an? So what if Captain Shakespeare (played brilliantly by Robert DeNiro) (whom I find absolutely charming—he and his manly men who shout ARRGGG and throw fist salutes at each other are a hoot!) doesn’t exist in the book? I can go on and on how Stardust movie is different from the novel yet I still fell in love with it because it’s sooooo fabulous and a whole lotta fun—but I won’t. *lesigh* It’s not showing anymore and the freakin’ unicorn is still dead.

Okay, I gotta say this: Neil Gaiman is a perv and an evil, evil, twisted man. WHO THE HELL KILLS A UNICORN?! It’s a UNICORN, for christssake! Aren’t there rules or something??? Evil Neil had the unicorn battle the witch queen where it impales her with its horn and the witch strikes back, driving her blade through its eye and into its brain—killing it! And then we’d see the witch butchering the poor horsie’s head, spitting in its mouth, taking its blood for a spell and turning its body into a UNICORN ZOMBIE! Twisted and evil, I tell ya!!! And I was totally disappointed I didn’t see it in the movie. Damn. (I’m ashamed of myself. :S)

Er, anywho, there’s a new fairytale movie coming up: Enchanted. It’s about Princess Giselle (Amy Adams) banished by an evil queen (Susan Sarandon) from—oh, just watch this:

Doesn’t it look good? It reminds me how I missed the Disney fables of yore. And why I think James Marsden is a whoopsie. :/ (Oh, Cyclops, must you always go for the roles that don’t get the girl?) I like that Patrick Dempsey is in there looking verra McDreamy. I like that it asks the question: Can a storybook view of romance survive in the real world?

Either give in or die...

Sometimes it saddens me that I live in a world where fairytales can’t exist. Is it wrong to want happily ever after? ... I want stardust and fairies, I want true love’s kiss, I want dream come true, I want unicorns flying over the freakin’ rainbow and centaurs who will brush my curly golden hair or maybe a pretty shade of blue. I want enchantment, dammit. I want to be fucking enchanted. If it includes animal sidekicks and gnomes talking and dancing and singing, so be it.

I guess I’m still the awkward little dork who wants Prince Phillip of Sleeping Beauty. I don’t think I’ve ever grown out of it. Or even if I have, deep inside, it’s still within me... it never really goes away.
