"I've seen vampire venom work miracles, but there are conditions that even venom cannot overcome."

Ah, Carlisle, ye all-knowing Hottie McVampire... Here’s my no-spoiler-review of Twilight:

I snickered, I cringed, I almost barfed. Truly, I still can’t believe how BAD this movie is. Like, unbelievably embarrassingly horrendous. *shudder* FYI “true” Twihards (gotta laugh!) or whatever you wanna call yourselves now, who screamed their heads off every fucking time “Edward” appeared on the screen, despite all my bitching I LOVE Twilight, and, to be fair I once thought Rob was a bit of a cutie in GOF; believe it or not I WANTED to like this film. Now, most adaptations don’t measure up so I allowed room for disappointment—as in I went in with the lowest bar of expectation; worthy of Sarah Palin low. I knew it wasn’t going to be exactly like the book but for fuck’s sake, they could have done a better job of it!

As I’ve predicted, hee, I snickered at various scenes—I couldn’t help it. Well really, I’m not the only one. The acting was so atrocious people were laughing even when the scene was supposed to be SERIOUS. Still, that’s nothing compared with the times I had to cringe (bloke that sat next to me probably thought I had Parkinson’s :/). I.e. I cringed every time Edward looked at Bella. Actually, he was staring... staring and staring and—oh, my lord jeezuz—fucking staring... while precious Bella reciprocated with heavy breathing (fine, she blinked—like every 3 seconds or so). Edward was channeling croaky, jumpy Peter Brady (R.I.P. refined, oh-so-sophisticated Edward *sniff*); Bella was imitating a robot—or, er, WAS she a robot? I’m confused. :S The success of the film relies on the interaction and chemistry between the two because IT’S THEIR ROMANCE that has given the book its meaning, making it work—and yet their scenes together were utterly PAINFUL to watch (verra unpleasant, I tell ya). That alone made the movie fail.

Then, the makeup: IICK! The Joker must have been Twilight’s makeup artist. It was SO AWFUL that the actors’ faces looked as if they were falling apart. I actually pity the fools because you could see the makeup caked on their faces. I mean, hel-lo, it’s one thing to sound stupid but to look fugly too?!? What evil, EVIL torture! I guess while filming the poor actors had to avoid mirrors and shiny metals and lakes and stuff, or else they ran the risk of seeing their reflections and scream “Save me, Batman, save meeeee!!!”

Er, anywho, many characters were useless (jolly Emmett was a dud), some were annoying (especially fucktard Mike), while others looked like they’d been cast in the wrong bloody movie (Jacob could be in Planet of the Apes, while whatshisface who played Jasper was channeling Edward Scissorhands, except not EVEN nearly as good, or as good looking—HE WISHES—as darling Johnny). The movie itself was choppy, didn’t flow, and there were a lot of “WTF?” moments. I won’t mention any in case any of you lot who’ve yet to see it feel the need to jab popcorn into your ears or poke your eyes out with soda straws MWA HA HA be *ahem* surprised.

I swear watching the film was very embarrassing. I kid you not when I say I was mortified someone I know might see me as I was coming out of the theatre. It was soooo cheesy and stupid and, dunno, just plain awkward and weird. Stephenie must be disgusted how they butchered her book with terrible directing, bad acting and weak script. And, um... honestly, people, it is *2008* and, though I’m technically-challenged, even I know computers do fab things in the way of special effects. Maybe next time they’ll hire someone who actually KNOWS how to use one.

Anyhoodles, go see Twilight... if you dare LOL. I’m sure you’ll get a few unintentional laughs out of it. ;P

They're creepy and they're kooky, mysterious and spooky, they're all together ooky, the Cullen family!

Summit Entertainment couldn’t personally come to my home and sucker punch me in the heart so they did the next best thing:

This is what will happen if Cousin It and La Pequeña Prohibida get together to do the universe harm and fucking procreate. Half tacky wig, half transvestite horse, all ug-ly. Oh, for fuck’s sake... kill me, kill meeeeee...

Los Angeles, CA February 19, 2007—Summit Entertainment announced today that it has rounded out the cast of the Cullen family in the first installment of its filmed franchise, Twilight. The family of vampires, to which the leading male character Edward Cullen belongs, will be comprised of actors Peter Facinelli as Carlisle, Elizabeth Reaser as Esme, Jackson Rathbone as Jasper, Nikki Reed as Rosalie, Ashley Greene as Alice and Kellan Lutz as Emmett.

“Finding six talented actors who can portray supernaturally beautiful, talented vampires of the sort Stephenie Meyer has created and her fans have come to know and love was not an easy task but we are happy to say we have found our perfect Cullen family,” said Erik Feig, Summit’s President of Production. "This suprised me; my hallucinatory Edwards were usually better fed."

Why? *long suffering sigh* Why? Why don’t these Twilight casting directors ever listen to me??? This is like talking to Trollop or teaching platypuses or telling Brit Brit to wear knickers or asking Santa to whack Victoria so I can have Becks—I might as well ask them to box a kangaroo! I swear this is more frustrating than being trapped in a cave on a deserted island somewhere when I’m in dire need to fiddle with myself and there’s no BOB or handy porn! ARRGH!

Cast of Twilight movie (besides Ava from Grey’s Anatomy, I’ve never heard of these people):

(I was expecting a finger-lickin’ Nutella-licious mm mmmm Jasper after those heartless bastards brutally—BRUTALLY, I tell ya!—robbed me of an uber swoonsome Edward. What did they do instead? They picked a virgin dude who looks like he’ll keel over if I pinch him! Blech!)

Ashley Greene as Alice

Nikki Reed as Rosalie

Anna Kendrick as Jessica

Michael Welch as Mike

Justin Chon as Eric

Rachelle Lefevre as Victoria

Cam Gigandet as James

(Sweet jeezuz, FINALLY, eye candy. But, um, in what fucked up universe is James hotter than Edward?)

P.S. Thanks to Anan for this bit. All info from the Twilight Lexicon.

UPDATE: (Thanks Mallie!)

Kellan Lutz as Emmett

"The Host is even better than Eclipse."

Just saw this at Stephenie Meyer’s website, posted by Seth the Clown:

Stephenie was given permission by the publishing company to post an excerpt from The Host. Click here to read the excerpt. About a month before The Host comes out, I will write my highly-anticipated review for everyone to read. But, for now, let me just say that, in my humble, webmaster-y opinion, The Host is even better than Eclipse (my favorite of the first three of the Twilight series). Read the excerpt, and I’m guessing that you’ll want to pre-order The Host like I did.

Oh please, jeezuz! Let this be the truth and nothing but the truth so help me Xenu and his Galactic Confederacy. Let it be that Seth isn’t just “playing around” and The Host really IS muchos better than that craptastic-attempt-to-please-wolfboy’s-fans-by-making-Bella-too-stupid-to-live Eclipse. Oh, please please pleeeeeaeaaase!

Breaking dawn

Fellow Edward Cullen 4ever & evah fanclub members, rejoice rejoice! Breaking Dawn, Book Four in Stephenie Meyer’s “Twilight” series, will be available at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, August 2. Despite the fact I almost chunked my copy of Eclipse into boiling bubotuber pus, gotta admit I’m still gaga over this news. :P The cover will be revealed this summer but in the meantime you can already pre-order your copy and obsess whether Edward will finally realize he’s being a dumdum and leave that stupid Bella and be with his Harlot. *wink*

P.S. Do not fret, die hard SM fangirls. If you think August is too far a wait, The Host—a scifi novel deemed as her first book for adults—will be out this May 6.

Beyond the highland mist *ACKKK*

Oh, jayzuz, this book was... How can I say it without hurting anyone’s feelings? THIS BOOK WAS PLAIN OLD STUPID.

Sure, there were some interesting parts. I liked Lydia (hero’s mother) and Tavis (the cook). I also enjoyed the first couple of chapters when the heroine kicked ass with her witty tongue and the hero seemed yummilicious. But then comes Adam the Smithy, some dim-ass fairy the heroine “likes”, and it all goes downhill till almost the very end. *sigh*

One of my beloved Amazonians had this to say (you know how I love those clever creatures LOL):

While I’m pretty open-minded on differences of opinion in matters of taste, it’s baffling to me that there are actually people who have read and love this book. Are you illiterate? Have you read anything beyond a 4th grade level? Have you been lobotomized so that complete sentences baffle you?

Okay, so that was way too harsh, out of line and not entirely true—but you gotta admit it’s damn funny how upset she seems!

Anyhoodles, this is what I think:

Though I was forced to trudge over 200 pages of the ever boring hero-pining-over-heroine-who-is-bitter-and-childish plot, *UGHH* the writing wasn’t bad, if a little rough. The sentences didn’t always flow into one another and, at times, she changed from paragraph to paragraph as if she were writing entirely different books. Yet, in truth, that didn’t bother me as much as the weak time-travel plot and the lack of chemistry between the main characters.

I love paranormals and I can suspend disbelief as well as the next gal, but the historical inaccuracies and the completely unbelievable actions—and reactions—of the characters in this book were way more than I could take. I think Karen Marie Moning tried to cram too many things in one book; sometimes, keeping it simple works best.

There were a lot of lose ends, things that should have been good plot twists and weren’t used to their full potential: heroine murdering some guy and being tricked into smuggling drugs for him,** King James finding out Adrienne was beautiful and not Mad Jane, that Olivia mistress plotting revenge, those women that Laird Comyn abused, etc.

Then, the trivial things that were made big fusses over. I mean—Adrianne, get the fuck over that ever-hard dude! HONESTLY! The 200 pages worth of
I-hate-beautiful-men-but-kiss-me-and-I’ll-almost-come-in-my-pants-and-
then-I’ll-remember-everhard-and-push-you-away-and-mention-Adam thing got way too old too fast, seeing as KMM did it like 10 times.

Of course, since you know me and my sadistic ways, I’ll keep going with the series if only to torture myself more. Or maybe, if I’m really lucky, it’ll turn out to be like the “Dark Hunter” books which started unbelievably bad with Fantasy Lover and moved on to be very entertaining. Also, I’ve heard nothing but good things about these books so unless they’re like that Mary Balogh whatsis brothers series, or that “Troubled Navy Boys” one by Suzanne Brockmann, I don’t see any reason why I can’t be won over by Ms. Moning’s Highlanders. *g*

**BTW, that was a totally absurd plot development. Heroine kills big-shot drug lord who is being followed by the FBI and not a soul finds out she murdered him? *snort*

Fairytale ramblings: Can a storybook view of romance survive in the real world?

I have a confession: I’m a sucker for fairytales. Yeah, my sarcastic heart secretly likes happily every after of funny, goofy, swashbuckling, magical love. I swear no one likes fairytales as much as I do—not even a Disney princess brat. Be it fairytale books or movies or porn, just give it to me and I’ll gobble it up. I might even cry. *sniffles*

This is the reason why Stardust is my favorite movie of 2007. I choose it over 300 and Bourne Ultimatum. Yep, over His Royal Hotness Gerry Butler and Sexiest Man Alive *snort* Matt Damon. Who cares if they keep saying Tristan when it’s supposed to be Trist*R*an? So what if Captain Shakespeare (played brilliantly by Robert DeNiro) (whom I find absolutely charming—he and his manly men who shout ARRGGG and throw fist salutes at each other are a hoot!) doesn’t exist in the book? I can go on and on how Stardust movie is different from the novel yet I still fell in love with it because it’s sooooo fabulous and a whole lotta fun—but I won’t. *lesigh* It’s not showing anymore and the freakin’ unicorn is still dead.

Okay, I gotta say this: Neil Gaiman is a perv and an evil, evil, twisted man. WHO THE HELL KILLS A UNICORN?! It’s a UNICORN, for christssake! Aren’t there rules or something??? Evil Neil had the unicorn battle the witch queen where it impales her with its horn and the witch strikes back, driving her blade through its eye and into its brain—killing it! And then we’d see the witch butchering the poor horsie’s head, spitting in its mouth, taking its blood for a spell and turning its body into a UNICORN ZOMBIE! Twisted and evil, I tell ya!!! And I was totally disappointed I didn’t see it in the movie. Damn. (I’m ashamed of myself. :S)

Er, anywho, there’s a new fairytale movie coming up: Enchanted. It’s about Princess Giselle (Amy Adams) banished by an evil queen (Susan Sarandon) from—oh, just watch this:

Doesn’t it look good? It reminds me how I missed the Disney fables of yore. And why I think James Marsden is a whoopsie. :/ (Oh, Cyclops, must you always go for the roles that don’t get the girl?) I like that Patrick Dempsey is in there looking verra McDreamy. I like that it asks the question: Can a storybook view of romance survive in the real world?

Either give in or die...

Sometimes it saddens me that I live in a world where fairytales can’t exist. Is it wrong to want happily ever after? ... I want stardust and fairies, I want true love’s kiss, I want dream come true, I want unicorns flying over the freakin’ rainbow and centaurs who will brush my curly golden hair or maybe a pretty shade of blue. I want enchantment, dammit. I want to be fucking enchanted. If it includes animal sidekicks and gnomes talking and dancing and singing, so be it.

I guess I’m still the awkward little dork who wants Prince Phillip of Sleeping Beauty. I don’t think I’ve ever grown out of it. Or even if I have, deep inside, it’s still within me... it never really goes away.

Trollop: Not Edward Cullen's lover and Twilight casting director *wink*

Since Twilight seems to be the popular TBB topic of the week, even after all my complaints, I have decided to join in the fray and help Harlot with the casting. She’s not good at that sort of thing and needs a bit of guidance. *g*

I’m sure all you Twilight fans will all agree I have done a better job of it LOL.

Jennifer Beals dancing in as Bella Swan, with her off-the-shoulder top and everything...

Michael J. Fox in his Teen Wolf gear as Jacob, er, Jacob the Wolf (does he have a last name?).

Bela Lugosi as Edward Cullen.

Harlot: Edward Cullen's lover and Twilight casting director *wink*

I am still a wee bit mad about the Kristen-Stewart-as-Isabella-Swan thing. Apparently it’s an “accidental” fake announcement. *GRRR* This is no joke, people! It’s not like when I accidentally announced I was carrying Raoul’s lovechild. Soooo not the same, Seth Webmaster!

Just for clarification: Kristen Stewart has NOT been officially cast as Bella. Here is what Stephenie Meyer’s Vile Clown said about it—according to a member of Twilight Lexicon:

It appears that I made a mistake last night, and several people are probably very confused. Stephenie wanted me to test how quickly I could update information to get ready for the announcement. I was playing around with a few things and I accidentally posted the fake announcement (although it is true that she is one of the most popular actors that auditioned for the part). I’m very sorry for the confusion—I hope that clears it up.

-Seth

Very clear, my fake fangs. :@ For the love of god, I almost had a heart attack! And what about my poor imaginary lovechild? He would have suffered, I tell ya! But noooooo... it was an “ac-ci-dent.” HA! I swear if my Raoul finds out about this... Seth, you are a DEAD clown. *hmph*

Now, seeing as I can’t stop thinking about the Twilight casting directors bungling things so badly (seriously, I’m beginning to dread this movie :/) I thought I may as well do the job. Xenu forbid they cast Zac Efron as my beloved Edward and *gasp* that Kristen news really is a joke because it’s Zac Efron’s pornstar GF who will play Bella. “Twilight High School Musical”? AAHHHH, THE HORROR!

Oh-kay, let’s start with our main characters, shall we? If you missed my screeching on the previous post, like most Twilight fans I pick—no, I NEED Emily Browning as Bella. They can’t just pick some random chick’s face and superimpose it on Emily’s whenever I think of Bella. Verra rude, ya know.

Next, Edward. Who else? *dreamy sigh* Henry Cavill... *drawing of pritti hearts here* I don’t want to hear “Henry’s not 17 anymore, yada yada yada.” If Elijah could play Frodo (which actually worked—successfully, I might add) how can Henry not play Edward when he IS Edward in everyone’s mind (well, the smart ones :P)? It’s not like Henry looks like a 30-year-old virgin or something. Let’s also remember that Edward is really a 100+ old vampire, truly truly.

No idea who this boy is but Stephenie thinks this Steven Strait dude could play Jacob. Looking at his pictures, me agrees.

I’d love to see Morena Baccarin as Esme. Carlisle... hmm, is it possible to get Eric Bana? Just think of Eric in Troy—not him as the bronzed god with the yummy body, sheesh. I mean him as the responsible father, the angsty yet gentle soul that gives you melt-in-your-mouth looks that make you long for him to take care of you. Oh my... now that’s Dr. Cullen, baby! :D

As for Alice, that’s gotta be Rachael Leigh Cook. Jasper (as Mallie pointed out to me) is Taylor Kitsch. Not only they will look good together but they can compare which one of them is prettier. Not to mention because I’m shallow and a pervert and Taylor is fucking hot and I keep imagining him nibbling on my neck, mm mmmm... *g*

I don’t give a flying fig if they cast Carrot Top as Rosalie and Carrot Top’s wig as Emmett. Just, please, Twilight casting directors, for the love of stupid shiny volvo hottie owners, listen to my genius casting skills and DO NOT FUCK IT UP. Think about it or... *whispers* you might end up like Seth. Just saying... :/

What about you, other dear members of We<3Twilight Fan Club? Who do you think should play Edward and Bella? Jacob? Alice and Jasper? Carlisle and Esme? Rosalie? Emmett? Charlie? James? Victoria?

UPDATE: Kristen Stewart IS going to play Bella. First, they “accidentally” announced it as a “fake” news, *snort* then they’re like “oh, it’s just a mistake tee hee hee” and now they say it’s truly Kristen—FOR REAL! For fuck’s sake, stop confusing me!!!!!
