The Book Bitches' year in review

Last year, Trollop spent most of her days in Madrid, broke my heart and became Magister in Applied Political Science. When she came back to D.R., she met Bridezilla and The Wedding Nazi. I think she’ll be knee-deep in politics soon, with ex-first lady and presidential candidates, doing what she does best: bossing everyone around, heh.

My life was boring compared to hers. 2007 was dominated by my relationship with my almost fiancé, recurrent ex, quite constant BF of the last 3 years, give or take. I wish I could define—in any language—what it is between us, but I don’t believe such a word exists. He still wants to be with me... for the wrong reasons. Still and all, he’s always there giving me chocolates. :)

Anyhoodles, according to my Blogger dashboard, we now have 739 posts (where the hell did those come from?!?). Let’s recap what happened here on TBB, shall we?

On life in general: We discussed weird foods, the A word, gun control vs. gun rights and why Legolas is a queer fairy. Trollop seeked to be a topless dancer (sort of); I considered giving unlimited boob access to a sexy syntax-ist. We became Santa’s little helpers, again.

On sex stuff: Trollop masturbated to Fabio *shudder* and liked pleasure spiked with pain. I advocated wanking (as always) with sex chairs, strap-on cocks, vacuum cleaners, bizarre butt plugs, even BOB iPod. I talked about sexual independence and the best misconceptions about my sex life.

On men and relationships: Trollop asked if we’re meant to be monogamous and who’s into bushy blokes. I thought about polygamy, why love and music come together, deadly dating sins and the appeal of older men.

On authors: Trollop mused about “Ass Authors” and whether the Internet is tainting the relationship between authors and readers. I mentioned the self-professed next J.K. Rowling (who’s a plagiarist) *snort* and the girl found guilty of terrorism for writing poetry—not kidding!

As for our guest authors, we had the pleasure of having Sarah Brophy, Melanie Lynne Hauser, Megan McCafferty, December Quinn, Michael Betcherman and Sarah McCarty. (Up next: Jennifer Donnelly and Paullina Simons. Stay tuned.)

On books: I ranted about gay penguins and “scrotum” in children’s books. Trollop posted about peek-a-boo(k), e-books and that only 1 in 4 adults read books. I talked about how reading keeps you thin, audiobook listeners are cheaters and the Bad Sex Award. Of course, this wouldn’t be TBB without any mention of the waterweed-caresser, Jamie Fraser. *g*

On romance novels: I asked for Patience, more knights and shouted my undying love for Matt Farrell. We had a quest for verra disturbing romances, hilarious blurbs, sheikhs and Scots—then we peeped under their kilts, heh. We pondered about the appeal of vampires (including Dark-Hunters; Viswush, Phuck and their stupid brothers *yuck*), werewolves and other were-beasties—with duck-cocks!

Romance is pure rubbish, according to Trollop the hero snob. She talked about Sebastian the Elephant Man, the hooked, the clawed, abusive fucks, halfwits with horrid tastes, “Wildcat Arrows” and misty Highlanders! Honestly, the only one she missed was a closeted-gay unicorn-tamer. :/

On YA fiction: We loved YA books so much they ruled our blog; from who popped my cherry, to why adults should read books for young adults. We went uber loco for Harry Potter: we discussed gay Dumbeldore and books 1-7 for BBC; we devoured anything Deathly Hallows (confusing and disappointing) and Order of the Phoenix movie (which sucked!).

Then, there’s Twilight. Oh, Edward, how I love thee... how I HATED Eclipse... how stupid the movie would be. *grrr* From the “accidental” announcement of who will play Bella—“oh, it’s just a mistake tee hee hee”—to “oh, it’s true-trooo, really.” For fuck’s sake, stop confusing me!!! Cedric was the last straw, I tell you. I won’t be surprised if they cast Dr. Phil and Oprah to play Carlisle and Esme, hmph!

On eye candy: NO ONE’s hotter than my Raoul but some of our love slaves demanded special attention: Delicioso Latino, Gods of Stadium, Twisted Stable Boy Who Fucks Horses and Hung Like a Horse Kickboxer. *g*

On celebrities, TV and movies: 2007’s about the Spartan King, fairytale creatures, Eric Bana’s huge codpiece, battle at The View, Battle of the Divas and the comeback of Sex and the City. Daniel Craig was hot (or NOT), Brit Brit’s a talentless skank stupider than that moronic beauty queen (at least I think that, evil that I am) and Becks stuffed his undies.

On blog buggery: In the name of all that is kinky, dirty and orgasmic, we christened Eduardo Corrochio and our spankin’ new template. We showed how great our love was for Mayor Phin Tucker and the horse you rode in on origin. We made our own romance novel covers and put the spring in Springfield. Lastly, *breathe* we finally launched our bitchin’ FAQ, yay!

The Book Bitches FAQ

Welcome, bee-yoo-tiful reader. We hope you have a fantabulous visit. Don’t be afraid to say hullo, we don’t bite—unless you’re a gorgeous naked man covered in Nutella. ;)

We’re foul-mouthed heathens and we fuck proudly. If you’re easily offended, go read the Daily Word or something. Gotchabaguse? Goody. Let’s proceed.

TBB is a thousand shades of awesome! :D How did it come about?

Once upon a time there was a most beautiful bitch named Trollop. She’d been an avid reader all her life, finishing her first book in the summer between first and second grade, a children’s version of Around the World in Eighty Days by Jules Verne. There hasn’t been a time since then that she hasn’t been in the middle of reading a book or novel.

One day, she came upon a book titled Lady Be Good by Susan Elizabeth Phillips. It was the first time she’d read a romance novel and she absolutely loved it. This got her hooked on romance; however, most books that landed in her greedy little hands were a bunch of bullocks! She desperately wanted to share her frustrations with someone, but the only BB she was part of had a “no bashing books” policy which, though completely understandable, was freaking exasperating.

Enter the uber gorgeous Princess Harlot! Like Trollop, she too loved to read ever since she was a little heathen stealing books from her grandpa’s library. She discovered romance novels (through Judith McNaught’s Something Wonderful) almost at the same time Trollop did (both at the age of 21; coincidence?—I think not!) and like Trollop, she needed a place to vent about the crappy books she had the misfortune to read. Trollop then thought of a solution where the two of them could trash and bash, whine and rip apart any books they hated.

And so, The Book Bitches was created, thanks to Trollop’s endless babble about this or that book that “sucks so bad I’m seriously contemplating slicing my wrists instead of continuing to read this crap.” The original idea of purely reviewing—*cough* trashing *cough*—books all the time was discarded shortly after the blog first started. TBB is now a place for the two of them to talk about books, movies, TV shows—life in general, really—and there is, of course, tons of sex talk. It’s like having their very own shrink, without the exorbitant fees. *g*

How long does it take you to write a post? Do you have set days of the week for posting? There used to be four BB; where are the other two? Did Harlot scratch their eyes out for lusting over Raoul?

Harlot: Just so you know, for MY Raoul—if I must—I will beat the crap outtaya! I may be tiny but I can kick and chop-chop like the best of karate kicker choppers out there! AYE! *hmph*
  • Trollop’s favorite posts are The Bitchin’ News, though she seldom writes them (they are very time consuming).
  • Harlot edits all the posts to make them “pritti” and eye-catching.
  • Trollop edits all the posts for grammar and sentence structure.
  • Harlot gets all the pretty pictures added in the posts because Trollop is lazy to search and usually gets the fugly ones.
  • Trollop works on editing pictures and headers.
  • Harlot has taken over most of the template changes. (Blogger hates poor Trollop!)
  • Trollop got her name from a Girlmore Girls episode where Lorelai is using a lipstick by the color of “Vicious Trollop.”
  • Harlot got her name because it sounds better than “Trollop.” :P
  • Trollop has a list a mile long of posts she wants to write about, but never gets to work on them and the list keeps growing and growing and growing.
Harlot: YOU list them? I have my own list but I also have to make sure I’ll make a list for Trollop. Seriously, she looses everything!—and she actually blames me when I “forget” what it is SHE should be writing about! :@

Trollop: We don’t have a schedule for posts, or which of us has to post a specific day. We sort of play it by ear. I show Harlot all my works in progress but I only get to see hers when they are already finished and drafted. *grrr* It takes me a couple of hours to write most articles, and a bit more if I have to do research. Harlot writes a post in all of 5 seconds, and before I edit them, I have to tell you, they’re freaking LONG! How she does it is beyond me; takes me a fucking hour to write a paragraph LOL.

TBB started with four members: Bawdy Babe, Harlot, Tart and Vicious Trollop as contributors. Later on, two of our mates left us because of real life commitments; therefore, there are now only two fabulous Bitches left: Harlot and Trollop. ;)

Who in Xenu’s pants is Tucker?

Short answer: Not campaigning for some wanker; “Tucker for Mayor: More of the Same!” is our post continuation link.

Long answer: We luuuurve Jennifer Crusie’s Welcome to Temptation like sick freakos love sex in a barn (probably with fongool orgasm :/). We love its hero, Phin Tucker; its witty and funny story, the uber hot sex and, yes, Phin’s incredibly charming campaign slogan “Tucker for Mayor: More of the Same!”

Instead of “Ohhh, more, more, MORE!” (words that belong to our love slaves *wink*), whenever we have a long post, we’re going to use Phin’s funny slogan as a post continuation link. Particularly if said post includes tons of photos and/or videos. That way, our pages won’t look cluttered and it’ll be faster to load, yay!

What in pickling gherkin is BBC, and how can I join it?

Bitches Book Club (BBC) was officially launched on March 2006 (sounds like a space shuttle :/). Anyone that has read the book can participate, FREE, no charge, really really—though, if you want to send us some money, please, by all means. *g* Just answer the damn questions; the more people that join, the more interesting and diverse the discussion will be!

Every first day of the month, a book selection will be announced. Discussion begins the last Monday of the same month (unless announced otherwise). Usually, there are approximately 5-6 questions per book (we do not want our readers typing answers until their poor wee fingers fall off). Some of the questions will be posted when the “Book Selection of the Month” is announced, so participants can mull them over while they read. The rest will be posted when discussion officially starts, yay!

Discussion and comments are recorded on archives for further perusal. If you want to add something even after the discussion is over, please feel free to do so.

Isn’t this a readers’ blog? Why do you keep talking about sex? Why so few book reviews? Where are the juicy author gossips and the stupid catfights, dammit!?

If you don’t like what we do, for fuck’s sake, go forth and seek other sites. Honestly... In any case, let’s clarify some stuff:

a) Yes, this is The Book Bitches blog, and yes, we do talk about books here. But there are a lot of ways you can talk about books than just by reviewing them. What we do is... well, different. Here are two posts as examples: “The Big Cock Theory” and “His Ever Throbbing Manroot” (or just peruse our favorite posts scrolling on our ticker, that box on top of our pritti chatbox). As The Brainwash Café team has said about us: “Here, you can find articles on nearly everything all written with, hmmm... lets say a ‘unique’ style...” See, we’re unique. :D (We like those guys!)

b) We don’t have the interest, time and tolerance to seek gossips about authors. We can’t spend our time searching for “juicy” tidbits about the literary world, not even the romance genre (we’re busy and fucking lazy). We are not in tune with what’s happening in different authors’ personal lives. Actually, we’re usually the last ones to find these tittle-tattles! We are self-centered bitches who don’t give a flying fuck about others’ flights *le sigh* (unless it’s uber importante, heh). Of course when we happen to come across said topics and/or feel compelled to talk about scandals—or this and that author fighting idiotically in public, etc—promithe, when we do have something to say, you WON’T miss it.

c) We don’t attack authors. Meaning, we don’t call them bad, uglee oompa loompas. Their book is another matter, however. If we feel that one’s book is gad-awful and deserves to melt in a huge pot of boiling undiluted bubotuber pus—we will say that, of course. As for the stupid catfights, see “WTF? Why did you delete my comment?”

d) As much as we talk about books, sex stuff and men will always be part of this blog. So never fear, you dirty pervs. :P We are proud to be women who celebrate their sexuality and we do appreciate God’s gift of yummilicious men. *g* (Ohhh, thankee lord for the yummilicious men!)

Trollop, are you going to run for office? If so, will you admit to reading romance novels publicly?

Stay tuned, and why wouldn’t I admit it?

Harlot, did you really dump Brad Pitt?

Yes.

Who is Raoul? Who are Julio, Guido, Jack Koff and Gaylord Dookie?

Raoul is Harlot’s EXCLUSIVE LOVE PROPERTY forevah and eevaaaaah and that is the truth and nothing but the truth so help me Xenu and his Galactic Confederacy!!!

Now, *breathe* the others are Trollop’s Studasauruses:

Julio and Guido

Jack Koff and Gaylord Dookie

WTF? Why did you delete my comment?

a) You’re acting like a jackass, saying something offensive or disrespectful. We ask TBB commenters to be civil and nice. Flaming, belligerent debates, too nasty sarcasm are not welcome. Yes, at times we break these rules ourselves—sarcastic bitches that we are—but we live here.

b) You’re saying something that’s got nothing to do with the post the comment is made upon.

c) You’re being an ackflibbit. Damn, man! Speak a da Inglish!

d) We will NEVER allow vile type of behavior here. We have been incredibly blessed with warm-hearted smart readers that can voice their opinions, to either agree or disagree, in a graceful and classy way. But if ever the day comes in which to preserve what we have so painstakingly built, we need to erase, ban, kick-out or do whatever is in our power to do, we will do it with an iron fist—aye, even if it’s to a loved reader, author or blogger.

What is the purpose of the chatbox?

Chatbox is exactly that, a box for CHATTING. Or for some announcement, or when Harlot is missing again and Trollop is stuck in her gad-forsaken office where she has no MSGR. Chatbox is NOT the place to put in your comments. Sheesh.

Yo, I emailed you. How come you haven’t replied yet, you snobby bitches?!

Erm, apologies, we’re busy and fucking lazy. Or Trollop is somewhere flirting and Harlot is frolicking with Raoul. This is your chance to send us hate mails, heh. :P But please know that we do read every email we receive and we do think of you. Aye, really really!

Yoo hoo... Would you like to trade links?

Sorry, but no. In case you’re temporary blinded by our beauties, :P we don’t even have a blogroll. We’re self-centered bitches, aye. (We link people on our posts, though.)

Truth be told, Trollop wanted a blogroll but Harlot, ever the selfish one, didn’t want one. :/ (Well, it looks fugly and very cluttery! *hmph*) If we link someone, we have to link eeeeveryone so as to not hurt anyone’s feelings and that’s gonna be a list from here to freakin’ kingdom come! By then it’d be pointless because folks RARELY ever click a verra long blogroll (yep, we tested it), not to mention linking should be about quality and not reciprocation.

If you’d like to link us, we’d love that, thank you. Sounds hypocritical since we don’t trade links? Not really. As Bacchus puts it, a link is a compliment; a link exchange offer is a sneaky way of saying:

“I don’t really like your site enough to link to it. If I did, I’d already have your link up. But, even though your site isn’t worth linking to, I’ll do it anyway... if you’ll link back.”

Hubba hubba! Where did you find the picture you just posted? What’s the name of that scrumptious eye candy?!

Harlot: Since I’m the one who often post eye candy I’ll answer. Frankly I’m verra tired of this question—oh anguish, truly truly. *lesigh* If we have the source/link of something, we mention it. Every. Fucking. Time. Seriously!

Pictures are tricky, though. If you don’t see a link, it’s because I DON’T have one. I’ve been a perv downloading dirty stuff from the internet long before my blogging days. At the time it’s always been right-click-and-save, ya know? Now, in some cases, the link is in the freakin’ picture already.

As for the names of the studmuffins I’ve posted, honestly, dude, most of them I DO NOT KNOW. Please, oh please don’t hound me like a dog with a bone and piss me off; chances are even if I know it, I won’t say anything. Uh-hmm. I’m ebil like that. Sorry. Google, itz yoor frend.

Will you pritti please email me some porn/eye candy?

Fuck no. Google. Jeyzuz...

I’d like to put a button link to your blog on mine. Do you have one I could possibly use?

Sure, darlin’. You may use these:

Yay me!

Hip hip HURRAH!

I am now Vicious Trollop, Magister in Applied Political Science. Well, I don’t actually graduate until next Tuesday, but the deal is pretty much sealed... er, I think LOL.

Harlot is sans internet, and I’m dying to share my news with her. She has been so supportive this year, especially during my crazy thesis time. She is an incredible friend, but don’t tell her I said so, her ego is big enough as it is!

We’ll be back to our scheduled programming after tomorrow. Tonight, I’m celebrating...

Imitation is NOT the sincerest form of flattery—it's plain old thievery!

OH, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD! I am sick, sick, SICK of people stealing our stuff. WHY do these fuckers keep doing this? Do they actually think we won’t find out?

I am soooo mad I can’t even type; I am shaking with anger I keep misspelling words. First, it was just those brainless idiots who occasionally claimed our ideas/posts as theirs. Then, there were those who started appropriating our names (seriously, can’t your tiny brains think of other names?). Now, someone actually stole our fucking blog design?!? WHAT. THE. FUCK!!!!!

Jeyzuz, let me breathe.

Forgive my filthy mouth but I just saw an EXACT copy of our blog: our design (which Trollop and I worked tirelessly for TWO FREAKING MONTHS non-stop we almost killed each other), our posts, even our fucking names!

We have worked very hard on our blog and don’t plan to take any more of this crap. From now on, every time someone steals ANYTHING from us, we’re writing about it, writing a complaint to Blogger (which, we already did once and the site was thankfully closed) and going to whichever site has recently stolen from us and letting their readers know! Believe me when I say you have NO idea how vicious Trollop and I can be when relentlessly provoked.

Design your own sites, write your own posts and get your own ideas. It isn’t that hard really; if you spend half the time on your site that you spend stealing from us, I’m sure you could fucking come up with something!!!!!

"The cherries sneered back again. Evidently they hadn't gotten the good news they were apples."**

So sorry this announcement is late. I feel like I was lost for the past few days, swept off by the wind, dizzy and loopy—and then the next thing I knew Paris headed to jail? Hmm... tsk, poor bitch.

Anyway, without further ado, let me introduce our BESTEST Phin Tucker *g*:

What did you think? Of course MY Phin will win, geesh. I’m bestest after all. :P Oh well, nothing but good times ahead for me and MY Phin!

As for the winner of our Welcome to Temptation raffle...

Thanks everyone for participating; hope you pervs had fun choosing between two yummilicious studmuffins. Jolie,*** gorgeous, if you could please email us the address where you want your book send. As always, feel free to include naked pics of Brad Pitt. ;)

Harlotry

I ranted about losers who steal our stuff the other day but I removed it because, apparently, I was a bit strong. However, it made others think I was kidding. Oh, children, just because I’m being sarcastic and bitchily narcissistic doesn’t mean I’m not serious. *angelic smile* To our lovely and loyal readers, my apologies if my post was interpreted in the wrong way; but frankly, I will post whatever it is I think neccesary to keep this from happening. Besides, who said I was nice? *g*

Now, to those ugly *$&*#$ who [say they] HATE me/Trollop/our blog, or even go as far as pretending they don’t even know about us, and THEN USE our stuff, well I just have to tell you: If you don’t have enough brains to fill an eggcup, darlings, why must you claim my ideas as yours? Anyone with one functioning brain cell and a Google search engine will know you are just a fake!

Holy cow, Batman! 250,000!

Can you believe our little blog just got its 250,000th reader? And only after a year and two months since we started our stat counter! *gasp* YAYAYAYAY! HURRAH!!!

Oh, happy day! After starting with less than 20 readers (lord knows who those poor souls were) to now getting around 800 visitors a day... to Trollop moving to that vile uber vile place called Madrid... to the two weeks we actually fucking LOST OUR BLOG (what a fat bitch!!!).

Brad Pitt is getting ugly *weeps* and Beckham has BFF’d a sociopathic midget with a god complex—of all people for fuck’s sakes. Still, we have a lot of reasons to do the conga with tequila and Raoul. Yep. *g* After having December off, our BBC is back, and with it comes a FANTABULOUS book. (Are you guys reading Twilight? ’Cause, ya know, we’re counting on you to participate. :P) We also have to mention some of our lovely lurkers who are finally coming out of the closet—oh JOY! :D

Actually, *blush* what we’re really trying to say is: THANK YOU, our wonderful, lovely, bee-yoo-tiful readers, from the bottom of our wicked little hearts, for visiting every day and posting your thoughts and comments. It humbles us that, despite the fact that we’re crazy heathens, you really, really like us. We lurve y’all! *sniff* (Except for those thieves who fucking steal our stuff/ideas without linking or even mentioning us. *GRRR* We know who you are, fuckers.)

Now for our little tradition, here’s a little feast for everybody. Enjoy...

“I’m a perv and I wanna see more!” LOL Kidding, boys and girls who like girls. ;P

Oh, more more more!!! Don’t you just lurve his... er... blue trunks? Tee hee.

For those of you who still haven’t posted on our delurking thread, what the hell are you waiting for? Go on... ;)

HO, HO, HO... THE BITCHES ARE BACK!!!

Not a month ago, I told Trollop I’m getting tired of blogging. Our stats are wacky at best, many readers are too lazy to comment, *sniff* and there’s also the fact I promised myself I’ll stop blogging when it ceased being fun. For a while, I gotta admit, it did. It’s amazing actually that I lasted this long LOL because, unless I’m being fascinated, I get bored easily. The fact I’ve been busy with establishing something of import to me, and Trollop too occupied with school, also played a part with my feeling so worn-out.

However, during the TWO FREAKING WEEKS our blog was down, I realized something: this little space in the world wide web, despite how it’s SUCH a pain in the arse sometimes, is one of my few solaces. Yeah... I mean, for fuck’s sake, I panicked like a pregnant Mexican prostitute when our blog disappeared from our dashboard! And to think I was just planning of leaving it?!? I felt totally bereft and restless, awfully mad and extremely frustrated (blindingly so!) that something very important was just snatched cruelly under my feet—without a fucking warning!—and then I was left with nothing? WHAT. THE. FUCK? Even nuclear bombs count down before they fucking explode!!!

It didn’t help that for the past 16 days, all my cries for Blogger’s assistance felt like it’s falling under deaf ears. I gotta admit each passing day I was cursing them to perdition, comforting myself by thinking of imaginative and painful ways in which the rotten fuckers who took away our blog should DIE. After a week, I even contemplated moving the blog to another host like WordPress; but even if that’s what I wanted, I HAVE NOTHING TO MOVE!!!

It was maddening; pure torture, I tell ya. *sniff* But thank the good lord, a certain Blogger Employee named Jordan answered my prayers (yes, I know how to pray, you witches). After stalking him at Blogger Help Group, bombarding him with emails (some are rude, yikes *shame*), he finally took pity on little oh me and investigated our blog. And now, because of him, FINALLY, my lovely beauties, The Book Bitches are soooo back!!! YAYAYAYAY! (You know I am so relieved and ecstatically happy I’m grinning like an idiot! It’s like having a blinding orgasm—or something better!—if there’s such a thing! LOL)

Jordan, really, I thank you from the bottom of my wicked harloty heart. Really, really. *big smile* Right now, “You are the sunshine of my life...” (why yes, I’m singing :P). As for you, our beloved readers, for hanging in there with us, Trollop and I promise a lot of new posts :D and, yes, GALORE of yummilicious eye candy. *wink* What say you? I think, “It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas...” LOL

Dis-fucking-claimer

Oh good god. Someone actually complained that Trollop and I don’t review books. I’m sorry, but last time I checked this is still Trollop’s and my blog. If you don’t like what we do, for fuck’s sake, go forth and seek other sites! Honestly... In any case, for the new readers, please, let me clarify some stuff:
  • Yes, this is The Book Bitches blog, and yes, we do talk about books here. But there are a lot of ways you can talk about books than just by reviewing them. What we do is... well, different. Let me show you some of our *ahem* fine articles: “The Big Cock Theory,” “A Dirty Mind is a Terrible Thing to Waste” and “His Ever Throbbing Manroot.” (Or just peruse our favorite posts scrolling on our ticker, that box on top of our purty tagboard. *g*) As The Brainwash Café team has said about us: “Here, you can find articles on nearly everything all written with, hmmm... lets say a ‘unique’ style...” See, we’re unique. *big smile* (I like those guys! :P)

  • We don’t have the fucking patience to give “blow-by-blow reviews” of books; that’s boring for us. We don’t even read other people’s reviews LOL (I like Mrs. Giggles though, she’s wicked). Huh? Oh, for the love of god! I’m not saying we’re above bloggers who review books! I’m afraid Trollop and I don’t have the talent to do what they do. Anyhoodles, recommendations are welcome and I’ll always trust Trollop’s suggestions. Still, everyone has his/her own preferences. I mean, some novels I love, Trollop fucking hated. (She even trashed some of them. *GRRR* Evil, evil woman!!!) Likewise, some of her beloved novels ended up in the bottom of my book shelf *bwahahaha* where dust bunnies rule, not to be seen again. *evil grin* We have different tastes in reading but there are times we couldn’t agree more how a bloody book should die horribly. Of course, that’s just us. Those who prosper and enjoy writing book reviews, good for them, really. As for you, dear readers, if you’re looking for such reviews, like I’ve mentioned, please feel free to find other book blogs. There are a lot of them.

  • We don’t have the interest, time, and tolerance to seek gossips about authors. We can’t spend our time searching for “juicy” tidbits about the literary world, not even the romance genre (we’re busy and fucking lazy). What I’m saying is, we are not in tune with what’s happening in different authors’ personal lives. Actually, we’re usually the last ones to find these tittle-tattles! We are self-centered bitches who don’t give a flying fuck about others’ flights *le sigh* (unless it’s uber importante :P). Of course when we happen to come across said topics and/or feel compelled to talk about scandals (or this and that author fighting idiotically in public, etc), I promise, when we do have something to say, you WON’T miss it. It’s just, we believe things like... finding your way to more orgasms are more important and helpful to book lovers such as ourselves. Think of Cosmopolitan than of People. *wink*

  • As much as we talk about books, sex stuff and men will always be part of this blog. I’m proud to be a woman who celebrates her sexuality *batting eyelashes* and appreciates God’s gift of yummilicious men. (Oh, thank the good lord for the yummilicious men!) I did notice that after we started posting eye candy, other book blogs started posting theirs too. That’s good, I think, more hot studs for us LOL. Of course I believe my collection of lovemuffins is still the UBER best. *g* (Why yes, I’m shameless.)

  • We’re foul-mouthed heathens and we fuck proudly. If you’re easily offended, go read the Daily Word or something.

  • Despite the rumors someone started, Trollop and I are not Playboy playmates. (Would be fun though.) And no, for the last time, Trollop and I are not lovers. Jeez... Though, you know, she says she’d become my lesbian cherry pie if I needed her to. Heh. (Jealous, are ya? *g*)

Winners of all expense paid trip to Paris!

Er, not really LOL. But as promised, we raffled the names of all those who graciously voted for that shameless Trollop and me. Without further ado, our lucky winner of SEP’s “Stars/Bonners” series is . . . Petra! :D

I know this announcement comes late, but really, it’s totally Trollop’s fault! She kept insisting she’s the one who had the most number of votes under her name and therefore should get the other prize with all that Calder Hart. That’s true, but of course her entries don’t count! Seriously! Now, let’s give it up for our real winner, the person who voted 17 times for us (I feel so loved *sniff*) . . . el-oh-el-aye . . . Lola!

Congratulations, Petra and Lola. If you could please email us the addresses where you want the prizes send. As always, feel free to include pics of hot naked men with your contact info.

Thanks again to everyone who voted for us. In case we actually win LOL, I swear on Trollop’s sacred dildo, there will be an eye candy shower such as you’ve never seen before. *wink*

Come win a Trollopy-Harloty favor *g*

Hullo, beloved readers. Did you guys vote already? If the answer is yes, then GREEAATT! If the answer is not yet, what the hell are you waiting for?! It only takes a minute and it’s not rocket science, people (though Trollop did have a bit of a hard time, the poor thing). :P

Anyway, as that heathen Trollop announced yesterday, the bee-yoo-tiful creatures who forward us their “proof of vote” are qualified for our raffle (as a bribe thank you, of course *wink*). I don’t know about you guys, but when I join any raffle, I make it a point to find out exactly what it is I’m vying for. What? Surprise? Oh, fuck surprises! Am I going to get a hunka-hunka beef o’lurve in the mail or not?** Because ya know, I don’t want him suffocating in there, dying while waiting for my lovin’!

Now, we’ll be giving away two fantabulous prizes. Oh good lord, not Britney’s new baby. :/ More mind—er, figure friendly than that LOL. What are we giving away then, you ask?

Whoever wins our raffle will get:
  • Susan Elizabeth Phillips’ “Stars/Bonners” series, yay! This includes paperback copies of: It Had to Be You, Heaven Texas, Nobody’s Baby but Mine, Dream a Little Dream, This Heart of Mine, and Match Me If You Can.
Whoever sends us the most number of entries*** will win (drum rolls, please!):
  • Brenda Joyce’s “Deadly” series! This includes uber shiny copies of: Deadly Love, Deadly Pleasure, Deadly Affairs, Deadly Desire, Deadly Caress, Deadly Promise, Deadly Illusions, and Deadly Kisses. Imagine all that Calder Hart! Even the insatiable me would be satisfied for a month or two LOL. BUT not only that...
  • We’ll also include a set of bookmarks with different purrty Book Bitches designs. And yes, you can’t get them anywhere else since I’ll be making those myself. (Unlike Trollop who can’t draw more than a stick figure, I’m kinda good with artsy stuff. *ahem* :P)
So anymore questions? Huh? Of course it doesn’t come with money back guarantee! Geesh.

*Deadline for entries is on Sunday, September 17.
**Um, no one’s getting that. Well, you see, I was being a good bitch and “tried” him first—to make sure he’s, er, in good condition; but after our session, well, he begged to stay with me. :/ What am I to do then? I’m not that heartless, ya know.
***That includes any vote you forward directly, be it yours, or anyone else that voted through you. Make sure you put in the subject line the nick you use to comment in blog or else we’ll never know who the hell you are LOL.

Rock the vote!

We’ve entered The Book Bitches in a website contest, er, some months ago actually LOL. Anyway, we were supposed to announce this forever ago for people to vote for us, but I kept forgetting to set this up so all our non-Spanish speaking readers could vote. It took time (WEEKS!) but I’m finally done. HURRAH!

If you guys would be so kind as to help that horrible Harlot and I win, *g* we’d be most happy. So happy that we’re going to raffle some surprises for readers that vote (do we know how to bribe people or what? LOL).

Everyone that forwards** us a copy of their “proof of vote” (you receive one in your email after the last step) is entering a raffle for a BBitches surprise. There will be another special prize for the person that votes with the most number of email accounts. (No, this isn’t cheating, and anyway, there are too many honest people in the world as it is, LOL and a little corruption never hurt anyone! If not, ask politicians. :/)

You can forward this post to anyone you wish. Maybe you can get your sisters, husbands, maids, priests, pets, sex slaves,*** etc etc etc, to vote as well. :P

Click here to start. It will only take a minute to complete the voting process.

The Book Bitches' King of Eye Candy

There is no question about it; they were ALL beautiful, down right drool-worthy, intensely mind-blowing knicker-burners. But like mighty warriors of yore battling for fair maidens’ favors, there can only be one oh-so-worthy left erect, er, standing to rule the land.

Ladies, let’s all hail—with our rock-hard nipple salutes!—our first ever Book Bitches’ King of Eye Candy: MY Raoul. *g*

I know everyone has seen this video already but, oh god, I will NEVER get tired of watching it. *sigh*

About the fabulous Book Bitches *wink*

Enter the uber gorgeous Princess Harlot (that’s me! :D). Like Trollop, she too loved to read ever since she was a little heathen stealing books from her grandpa’s library. She discovered romance novels (through Judith McNaught’s Something Wonderful) almost at the same time Trollop did (both at the age of 21; coincidence, eh?); and like Trollop, she needed a place to vent about the crappy books she had the misfortune to read.

TBB is now a place for the two of them to talk about books, movies, TV shows—life in general, really, and there is, of course, tons of sex talk. It’s like having their very own shrink, without the exorbitant fees. *g*

Total number of posts: 334

First post: Our first article was posted on September 7. During that first month we only had 4 posts, in which the first 2 didn’t count because one was “test” and the second one a poem. It was Trollop’s “Holy Guacamole!” post on September 11 that really started us off.

First book review: “Holy Guacamole!” A very funny review, if I may so myself, of Sherrilyn Kenyon’s dreadful novel, Fantasy Lover.

First movie review: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. The other two are about In Her Shoes and The Da Vinci Code. There’s also one discussing whether or not the movies are as good as the books they were adopted from.

First eye candy: Harlot’s “Is there anything yummier than men who can cook?” But if you count Trollop’s review of one of People’s articles, then it would be “Trollop does sexiest men alive.”

First Bitchin’ News: November 30

First Book Watch: Every Breath You Take

First book cover snark:Books and their cover.” We only have three other posts of this kind anyway LOL: “Secret babies,” “The good, the bad and the fugly” and “Clinch covers.”

Total comments: 5615

First comment ever: That didn’t come from both of us LOL, was from Serendipity! Posted under Harlot’s “As a matter of fact...

Actually, were we to count anonymous readers, the very first comment would have been this one posted in “Bad books by good authors: Linda Howard”:

Sarah’s Child is the worst book written by beloved author Linda Howard. Can’t understand why people like this book. The hero refuses to be involved w/ heroine’s pregnancy in anyway. Well except for the conception. What an asshole. And Sarah should be on waiting list for those in need of a spine. They deserve each other. Gosh I feel so much better now...

Post with the most comments: We DON’T love a good fight as much as the next blog LOL, but sometimes you’ve no other choice but to put on the gloves and defend yourself. Hence, our infamous post that made hell freeze over at a particular BB *snort*: “Ding Dong, the bitch is dead.” (Trollop’s fun “Ch-ch-ch-cheating” post came a close second.)

Day with the most visitors evah: May 21, Sunday, 2389 visitors. We kid you not! Well this was the time when Harlot invited some *ahem* friends over to play with us. However, their idea of play was different from ours LOL. We actually had to ban some of them (told you about Harlot and her “ideas” yesterday!).

Most talked about book: Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling
Most bashed about book: Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
Most talked about sex stuff: Cock size, masturbation and sexual fantasies *g*

Little things:
  • Trollop’s favorite posts are The Bitchin’ News, though she seldom writes them (they are very time consuming).
  • Harlot edits all the posts to make them “pretty” and eye-catching.
  • Trollop edits all the posts for grammar and sentence structure.
  • Harlot gets all the pretty pictures added in the posts because Trollop is lazy to search and usually gets the ugly ones.
  • Trollop works on editing pictures and headers.
  • Harlot has taken over most of the template changes (Blogger hates poor Trollop!).
  • Trollop got her name from a Girlmore Girls episode where Lorelei is using a lipstick by the color of “Vicious Trollop.”
Grrr.

Trollop: We don’t have a schedule for posts, or which of us has to post a specific day. We sort of play it by ear. I show Harlot all my works in progress but I only get to see hers when they are already finished and drafted. Grrr. It takes me a couple of hours to write most articles, and a bit more if I have to do research. Harlot writes a post in all of 5 seconds, and before I edit them, I have to tell you, they’re freaking LONG! How she does it is beyond me; takes me a fucking hour to write a paragraph LOL.

The Book Bitches started with four members: Bawdy Babe, Harlot, Tart and Vicious Trollop as contributors. Later on, two of our mates left us because of real life commitments; therefore, there are now only two fabulous bitches left: Harlot and Trollop. *wink*

About Trollop

Harlot: WTF? I HAVE TO INTERVIEW YOU?!? Why do they want to know about you, anyway? :/
Trollop: Because I’m adorable that’s why, you evil witch!
Harlot: Oh, alright. Geesh. Well, how are we going to do this then?
Trollop: Hmm, not sure. Let me think.
Harlot: Let’s just pretend I’m—oh man, who am I supposed to be now? *gritting teeth* I am not going to be Nancy Grace again!
Trollop: That was a great party!
Harlot: Yeah, right. We almost didn’t get out of that mess!
Trollop: I don’t know what you’re complaining about; we had fun. Well, at least I did while they kicked your ass out of there LOL! In any case, just be Harlot, if it will stop the whining.
Harlot: I am not—arrggg!—FINE. Let’s start with the basics then. Hmph.

Be on top (apparently that takes skills I don’t posses)
Keep my mouth shut when I lose my temper
Flirt with men that are higher on the hot scale than me (if I’m a 7 I can’t flirt with an 8, though do great with a 6 LOL)

My family, chocolate, books, foundation, Blistex

3 things you want in a relationship (love is a given):

Favorite TV show and/or favorite movie?
TV shows: Seinfeld and Sex and the City
Movie: The Godfather (between a hundred others)

If you could be the heroine of any book, who would it be and why?
That’s easy: Meredith Bancroft (without the hideous outfits and with a spine transplant, please)

If you could wake up tomorrow in the body of someone else currently living, whom would you pick? Angelina Jolie

Who’s the man (besides BF) you think is too gorgeous for your peace of mind? Rob Lowe

Which famous person, now dead, do you wish you could have seen naked? John-John

Trollop, some of your fans, *cough* apparently, wanted to know more. So, did you really do it in the Eiffel Tower while perching precariously on one of its balconies?
Err, no. It’s Trollop here, not some French acrobatic hussy. I can barely do it in a bed let alone standing on the edge of some balcony LOL. I’m a proud sex potato. *g* Give me what I want with the least minimum effort from my part. :P

Gad, you’re fucking lazy. Anywho, someone asked: “How did your friendship with Harlot start? Did you immediately like her, or hated her because she’s uber gorgeous?” *batting eyelashes*
Harlot and I are members of the same BB. I’d been posting there for approximately three years when she came along. At the time, I was on sort of “lurker” mode (busy with school and work). I remember thinking, “This girl has got to be manic depressive.” LOL She’d post all over the freaking board. There wasn’t one post that went unanswered by her, and as soon as someone replied to her answer she’d post again. It was insane!

Then, one Saturday morning, I posted about a crush on a professor and she asked if she could email me. In all honesty I was freaked out! I mean, she could’ve been an ax wielding maniac for all I knew, but I said yes (better to keep the crazies happy than make them mad LOL) and she send me THE dirtiest email on what female students have to do to catch the eye of university professors; a girl after my own heart. We’ve been friends ever since.

What are the things you don’t like about your *ahem* very beautiful partner, Harlot. *g* On the other hand, what are the things you just love about her?
Harlot drives me to murder sometimes! She is so fucking hardheaded; like a dog with a bone when she sets her mind to something. And most often than not, that “something” is bound to get us into trouble LOL. Also, there’s the miniscule detail that she’ll “decide” to dislike someone for no logical reason, and no matter what I say she won’t change her mind. *sigh*

As to what I love... well, there isn’t much I’ll tell you that right now! She is too giving, too good a friend and too loyal for my liking! She’ll send me encouraging/funny text messages on my cel when she knows I’m going crazy with work. She makes me laugh with her ridiculous antics and especially when she tries to write/say something in Spanish and gets it totally wrong LOL LOL LOL. I love to tease her about stuff because she’s so cute when she gets mad (just mention anything bad about Alexander and she’ll go off). I rely on her for so many things, I don’t know what I’d do if she weren’t part of my every day life. She has truly become one of my best friends and she knows what that means to me.

Do you think you and I would stay as good friends as we are now if we had to live together for a year?
Well, that depends. Could we still be good friends after I strangled you to death?

See what I have to live with?!? Grrr. Now, you vile woman, how do you think your writing has changed since you started blogging?
Oh it has changed a LOT. In the beginning I’d force myself to write something witty and funny in every single sentence which was exhausting. A post would take me forever—an afternoon at least! And I never thought anything I wrote was good or made much sense (most of the time it still doesn’t LOL). Now I’m more laid back about the whole thing. I write what I write and if it’s bad I’ll just draft it and come back later when my mind is clearer. I’ve come to terms with the fact that not everything I blog has to be funny, or even make that much sense as long as I like it and I’m happy with it.

What is the one thing you should never do in bed?
Pass gas. Especially if the person you’re with is into weird-ass fetishes, and understands that farting is a form of flirting LOL. You’d be in serious trouble then!

People that can’t take fucking hints. I do not like you, I’M IGNORING YOU, please get a life—stop talking to me!!!

4 things you want in a relationship (love is a given):
Faithfulness. Stimulating. Blinding sex. Insanely, wildly over the mark romance. All I want is real love, really. Ridiculous, inconvenient, consuming, can’t-live-without-each-other love. Is that too much to ask? *sniff*

Big, strong, manly hands. Makes me think of hot sex.
Broad shoulders. Makes me want to lick and bite them all over. :P

If you could wake up tomorrow in the body of someone else currently living, whom would you pick?
Angelina Jolie. I want to feel how it’s like to kiss with those pillow lips. LOL

If you could be the heroine of any book, who would it be and why?
Meredith Bancroft (Paradise by JM). She has her own Bloomingdale’s, an ex who looks like Hubbell Gardner, and Matt Farrell for a husband (grrr). For a woman who has SUCH a horrible fashion sense, not doing too shabby, is she?! Ugh!

Who’s the man you think is too gorgeous for your peace of mind?
Seriously, you really have to ask? Who else? *sigh* My beautiful Raooooul...

Which famous person, now dead, do you wish you could have seen naked?
Just one? Kill joy. Oh alright, I have to go with Rock Hudson. He’s bloody gorgeous!

Who is your favorite hero and why?
Matt Farrell. He’s my man. *dreamy sigh* He’s smart, dark, dirty, intensely sexual, extremely HOT, and über rich! LOL He’s passionate, driven, supportive, and just because of the tenacious way he fought for Meredith’s love, you know he’ll be forever faithful. I don’t care if you present me with Brad Pitt with Gorgeous Clooney on the side, I’m choosing naked with Matt Farrell. Ohhh, I love him. And true love lasts a lifetime. Uh-hmm.

What are you going to do if you win the $100 million lottery?
Oh to be young, rich and gorgeous. *g* If I win that much money, one-fourth goes to my parents. I dream of them someday not working anymore, just cruising, traveling the world, sipping the best wines and having the time of their lives. One-eight to my siblings (just because they love me), and one-eighth to charity. (Apparently am not such a bitch. I could spend them on Manolos and Jimmy Choos. Hmmm... yikes, now I’m conflicted!)

The rest for meeee!!! Will travel the world and go shopping till I can’t walk; will get super apartments in Paris, London and NYC; I want a charming villa in Tuscany full of gorgeous oh-so-lickable Italian men to tend my garden—I’ll die a HAPPY bitch! :D

I want to know what are the things you don’t like about Trollop. On the other hand, what are the things you just love about her?
Love about Trollop? Geesh, talk about hard-to-make-up-answers. Now, things I HATE about Trollop, of those I have a lot. I even have a whole post about it—which I wrote, like, for three minutes. Had I not been in such a hurry at the time, that would have been doubled. I can’t help it, she’s despicable. :/

Do you think you’d stay as good friends as you are now if you had to live together for a year?
There are two possible scenarios here: a) Trollop’s obsessiveness and bossiness would drive me insane, I’d end up electrocuting her—throwing in an appliance while she’s taking a shower in her ridiculously clean and spotless bathroom. Or b) Trollop would be so freaking jealous of seeing my Raoul loving me everyday, sooo madly in love with me—absurdly so—until she can’t take it anymore and ends up poisoning me. Frankly, I’d rather it be option A; Raoul can still visit me in prison.

In any case, Trollop drives me crazy enough already (she’s a stubborn heathen!) I think living together might not be such a good idea. But given the chance, yes, I would love to live with her because no matter what, I know we’ll always have a blast. Er, that is, until we kill each other. :/

How do you think your writing has changed since you started blogging?
My grammar is still not perfect—actually far from it—but it has improved tremendously! My spelling is just as horrible LOL (so is Trollop’s, hmph!). But, in general, I think I’m doing better (I hope :P). I’m still lazy, eheh, but I find it faster to write now; sometimes I can write an article in five minutes. Of course there’s still those times I get blocked, staring at the same sentence for an hour not being able to think of the right damn word to use.

How come women don’t have men’s brains?
Because we don’t have cocks to put those brains in.

How come God made a man before a woman?
He needed a rough draft before making a masterpiece. *wink*

The Bitches through the ages: Template evolution

As Harlot mentioned yesterday, we are celebrating our first anniversary this week. Our little blog has changed a lot since it first started; every one of those changes accompanied by torrents of frustrating tears and temper tantrum hissy fits. Some for not understanding how to work with CSS and template programming, many others because of header—usually freaking conceited Harlot demanding to look “pretty” when I’m already busting my chops enough as it is, GRRR!—and then others, because of color coordination and sidebar layouts (you have no idea how hard it is to make ten different colors harmonize with everything else in a site *shudder*).

I’m going to take you guys on a little tour of our template headers throughout the last year. There are some we tried in the beginning that are long gone (or at least we couldn’t find them LOL), and there are others so embarrassing I refuse to share them, (*cough* Nintendo-looking-one *cough*) but the rest are here to illustrate our evolution. Enjoy! *g*

benstiller

Fist up is one of Blogger’s sample templates. We kept that freaky weird Ben Stiller look-alike dude for like 2 hours, until I figured out how to get rid of him. I knew right from the beginning that I didn’t want any of those predetermined templates. They are fugly and completely useless if you want a pretty and unique blog. So freaky dude—or no freaky dude—it had to go... And then came “Nintendo” template thingy; I still have nightmares about that design, ACKK. Thank god I forced Harlot to take it off, like five minutes after it was up!

pinuphoochies

Right after that we had “pin-up hoochies” LOL. I loved that template, and perhaps if we’d known how to work CSS at the time we would have been able to keep it for more than a few days. Thing is, it was completely nonfunctional. It didn’t have archives, recent posts or anything that might be of use in all honesty. So, though Harlot cried buckets at the thought of not having her twat eaten by that swan, we had to let our third template go. *sniff* And yes, I loved my hammer swinging self, though why I was hammering practically in the nude is beyond me. :/

marilyns

I HATED this template and the cliché looking Marilyns in the header. It was so blah with all the grays and light pastels. Weird enough, we actually had this longer than the rest before it. Not sure for how long, but it was at least a month or two. Thank god Marilyn has left the building. Hopefully the door hit her ass on the way out LOL.

pinupskanks

Now, this header made me blow steam out of my ears like a cartoon! This is when we decided to built our own template from scratch (oh what fools we were). I had no bloody clue as to how Photoshop worked for editing pictures so I had to do it all in Power Point, and let me tell ya, it wasn’t easy!!!

First we had to choose from over 50 fucking pin-up skanks, crop pictures and edit colors. Then, there was the fight over who was who; everyone wanted the slut sliding from banister—funny how she looks as if she’s surprised to find herself there LOL. Our template “structure” was a disaster. Our comments would be one huge line and leave the page through sides; as a result you couldn’t read the whole thing. The header would not, for the life of me, center itself and post titles would come out in HUGE weird looking fonts so you couldn’t make out what half the words said. Arrggg. I swear, that’s when I knew Harlot and I would be friends forever! LOL It’s a wonder we didn’t kill each other!

smurfgirls

After spending over a month in the crappy “pin-up skanks” from above (yeah, that thing took me like 50 hours), we only kept it for a couple of weeks while we designed the “smurf girls” header. We luuurved this one; Harlot especially. She went gaga over the girls’ sickly looking blue faces and threw a tantrum, some months later, when I suggested we change the design to healthier looking lassies LOL.

purplespring

And so, there shall be color and light the good lord said—and that way we arrived to my favorite design to date. It was fresh and colorful with tons of pink—which I love—and yet it didn’t look like diarrhea medicine had puked all over it. I especially loved “my” illustration with the funky red top and the cute bangles (I own a set just like it) and thought we’d keep it forever. But as with everything I get bored easily, and for the past couple of weeks had been nagging Harlot about changing header yet again because: a) people keep posting comments along the lines of, “Are there two bitches or four bitches? If there’s only two, how come all the pictures are different?” and so on, and b) for all my complaining and whining, I have come to love working in Photoshop and will take up whichever excuse to design anything in it. *g*

So, during which header did you discover us? Which one has been your favorite/least favorite so far? And what do you predict we’ll have during the course of the next year?
